? BQEYZ KC2, a quad driver hybrid earphone with a super affordable price.

The BQEYZ KC2 features 2x balanced armatures + 2x dynamic drivers (10mm + 6mm) and an all-metal construction.

The BQEYZ KC2 are nearly identical-looking to the BQEYZ K2 (reviewed some time ago). Our left earpiece has the exact same design of the K2, the right one has a different back. In theory, the BQEYZ KC2 should have both earpieces with the same design as our right one. The writings on the bottom of both earpieces clearly highlight “BQEYZ KC2” but as we bought it immediately after it was released it might be an early error in our unit. Hang on until the end of the review, were we will find out if our left earpiece is the KC2 or a mistakenly sent K2 model.

The very similar naming between the BQEYZ KC2 (model being reviewed now) and the BQEYZ K2 (model already reviewed by us in the past) will get most people confused, thinking that they are the same earphone but they are not. Moreover, the same quad-driver configuration and the “error” in the aesthetic design of our specific unit gives the final punch into a K.O. of confusion – long story short, as mentioned before, the BQEYZ KC2 and the BQEYZ K2 are different models with different sound.

Some users might notice that the new Monoprice Quartet looks nearly identical to the BQEYZ KC2 and by having the same driver configuration, similar specs and cables, the Monoprice Quartet could possibly be a rebranded BQEYZ KC2.

The cables have a helix design and make use of 0.78mm bi-pin connectors, like the TFZ Series 2, RevoNext QT2, RevoNext QT3, TRN V80.

Bass & Sub Bass

The BQEYZ KC2 bass is well-balanced and not boosted not overcooked. Their lower frequencies are far from sounding thin or anemic, instead they offer a full-bodied and energetic sound but simply not as overdone as on most modern headphones.

If you want a super bassy and bass-centered earphone this is not the one for you.

Instead, if you are looking for an excellently resolved bass with the right amount of mid-bass and sub-bass that will stay where they belong and not crush the rest of the frequencies, the BQEYZ KC2 will get you covered.

Applying an EQ, their beautifully balanced bass can be pushed for crazy depth and extra punch.

Mids & Vocals

The BQEYZ KC2 mids have nearly no mid-bass bleed, super clear lower mids, no congestion and non-distant male vocals that, still, sound smooth and very slightly laid-back.

Higher mids and female vocals sound clear and alive with nice crispness and just a pinch of harshy peaks.

Honestly, we do not think that the BQEYZ KC2 need much intervention from an EQ but if wanted they can fine-tuned to adjust some of it to each listeners preference and will respond greatly.

Highs & Treble

The BQEYZ KC2 highs are very bright but up to the right level where highs sound open, bright and detailed but not extremely fatiguing nor overdone – impressive performance from the BQEYZ KC2.

An EQ grants the BQEYZ KC2 a huge addition of detail and a more open sound profile with no strong increment of piercing nor sibilant peaks.

VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: The BQEYZ KC2 are extremely sensitive to sound variation according to the degree of blockage of their vents. With no vents blocked their bass and mids are nearly flat, when fully and/or substantially blocking their 3 vent holes their bass becomes very deep and punchy and mids much more congested while a partial blockage gives their bass a punchy and deep response but less invasive. We have measured them under all conditions, you can see the graphs later on in this review.

Sound Leak

The sound leaking out of the the BQEYZ KC2 will be rarely heard by nearby people unless you extremely dial up the volume and yet they will blend in during normal city situations.

Sound Isolation

The sound isolation provided by the BQEYZ KC2 is more efficient than most average earphone but not the strongest that you can buy. Isolation will always remain partial unless you set your volume to medium-high or above.

Comfort

The BQEYZ KC2 are very comfortable to wear thanks to their curvy form factor and not too-deep fitting. Still, people with ears that are smaller than average might find their housings to be a bit large.

Response to Equalization

The response to EQ of the BQEYZ KC2 was highly efficient making them capable of transforming their bass into a much more intense style, fine-tuning their mids in either direction and opening up their highs without introducing fatiguing peaks.

• It is important to highlight (once again) the probability of exhibiting a very varied sound according to each ear's morphology and consequent level of blocking of it's ventilation ports. You will have to consider this before getting one as you may get any of the 3 sound styles explained in the "Highs & Treble" section but it is impossible to predict which one you will experience until it is fitted and tested on your own ears.
