? The ipipoo iP-B30i belong to the Asiatic brand from Shenzhen that creates a whole bunch of earphones, usually their iems are well built and can be bought for cheap. The housings of the ipipoo iP-B30i are made of metal as well as every detail like the stereo plug section and cable bifurcation (the mic is plastic) while remaining light weighted. The form factor of the housings is a classic bullet style and although they do not have any fancy details like the Elephone E1 or the Songful F2 they are still nicely designed with a back silver metal plate on their housings.

… although they do not have any fancy details like the Elephone E1 or the Songful F2 they are still nicely designed with a back silver metal plate…

The cable of the ipipoo iP-B30i is rounded and has some rubbery finish to combat tangling issues, although the cable is not particularly thick it still feels robust enough. On the cable an inline microphone and 1-button control is found that can be used to answer/reject calls, play, pause or skip tracks. The ipipoo can be bought in: white/golden, silver/white, blue/white and black with a silver back plate among other options but many color combinations are not easily found on the market.

B

Bass & Sub Bass

Bass of the ipipoo iP-B30i is on the conservative side with not much sub-bass and not too strong punch, people looking for party earphones will feel them too weak for most of their music. Still their bass levels provide enough warmth and do not sound thin. An EQ enhanced sub-bass depth and mid-bass punch resulting in better fullness and warmth. Under our extreme bass test, the ipipoo iP-B30i supported up to 46% of a Fiio E12’s maximum amplification power while been set to high gain, with it’s bass boost on and applying a custom basshead EQ. The results were a significant improvement in mid-bass punch and sub-bass depth also there was a very noticeable enrichment of highs and mids/vocal frequencies. Despite the progress there was no basshead impact or rumble at all even some microdriver earphones provided higher rumble and/or impact like the Remax RM-565i or the UiiSii Hi-705; maybe they could be said to provide a level similar to the KZ HDS3 microdriver earphone.

M

Mids & Vocals

Due to the conservative bass mids may sound a bit cold to some, lower mids are recessed and lack energy, lower vocals sound distant and laid back, higher mids are not harsh. With an EQ mids sound less laid back but things get a bit boxy and very harsh.

H

Highs & Treble

The highs of the ipipoo iP-B30i are able to provide some brightness but little detail and definition, there are not excessively piercing highs peaks but some sibilance is perceived. An EQ, makes the ipipoo gain a great extra amount of brightness while detail and definition does not improve much. Piercing highs got a bit enhanced as well as sibilance.

SL

Sound Leak

The sound that leaks out of these earphones is very low, almost non existent. So, it is a perfect companion if you intend to use it at libraries or want to keep private what you are listening to. Still they do not achieve the level of the king in this category, the KZ ATE.

SI

Sound Isolation

The iP-B30i do a fair job blocking outside noises. Sound surrounding you will get reduced as much as many average earphones are able to.

C

Comfort

Metal housings of the ipipoo iP-B30i provide a solid construction while not becoming heavy or fatiguing, their size is small enough and can be easily grabbed and worn for several hours without any discomfort. Fit is firm enough to hold their position under normal use. If you intend to use your earphones for more intensive or sport activities take a look at some of the Top Sport Earphones like the: JBL T110, Sound Intone E6, Puma Bulldogs, Sennheiser CX200, UiiSii GT800, KZ ZS3, SOUL K-POP, Doboly Q18, Vots DQ100, Letv Reverse, Sony MDR-XB50AP, Vots QT100 or the bluetooth earphones QCY QY8.

EQ

Response to Equalization

The response to equalization was fair but with some drawbacks. Highs showed a significant gain in brightness but sibilant and piercing highs got enhanced too, mids and vocals were able to remove some of their recession but boxy and harsh higher mids appeared, bass improved somewhat with no major issues

  1. Bought a pair of IPIPOO Bluetooth headphones, model iL92BL. The sound is fine for listening to Podcasts with my iPhone 6. But when they are paired with the iPhone I am unable to use the phone’s keypad in any application.

I had a Chinese friend call the manufacturer since nobody there speaks English. She gave them all the details including a scratch off sticker code to verify that they weren’t counterfeit). IPIPOO never responded to her question about whether this happens with all their Bluetooth products.

    Total garbage.
