🎧 The QKZ DM1 have been reviewed by our team. With over 25.000 units sold and being one of the most sold earphones at Aliexpress the QKZ DM1 review had to be included in ThePhonograph.net reviews database.
In the past we have reviewed other QKZ earphones like the QKZ W1 Pro which had an excellent overall performance with a crazy-cheap selling price. If the QKZ DM1 can follow the legacy of the QKZ W1 Pro we could have a new Best Bang for Buck Earphone awarded.
The QKZ DM1 features metal housings, 10mm dynamic drivers and a polished design at an ultra budget-friendly price.
The QKZ DM1 durability seems solid and could last long without much issues due to their metal housing construction and heavy-duty styled cable. The housings have a colored ring near the eartips, these coloring follows the standard colors that identify the left and right earpiece, being red color for the right earpiece and blue color for the left one. Moreover, the housings have a “L” and “R” lettering on each corresponding housing to ease even further the recognition of each side.
The cable is well built and has a textured feel; inline you will find a 1-button control and a microphone which will allow you to take or reject calls, play or pause tracks and skip songs. The cable bifurcation and stereo plug section are also built in metal like the housings and share the same color and style of them.
The QKZ DM1 is fully compatible with Android and Apple devices.

The QKZ DM1 unboxing will result in 3 pair of eartips and a hard carrying/storage case that will protect the earphones very efficiently. The case looks almost identical to the one that we saw while unboxing the JVC HA-FX1X.
Bass & Sub Bass
The 10mm dynamic driver of the QKZ DM1 has strong punch and good depth with a strong bass personality yet balanced between mid-bass and sub-bass and not excessively boosted or overdone. Still consider that they have a strong bass response and are not a bass-gentle earphone.
Applying an EQ, their mid-bass gains a strong amount of punch but most noticeably their sub-bass gets insanely deep.
During our extreme basshead tests the QKZ DM1 managed to take up to 51% of a Fiio E12‘s maximum power (basshead EQ, bass boost on, high gain) adding up a worthy amount of mid-bass punch and sub-bass depth reaching a basshead impact and rumble level above the KZ ATE and Xiaomi Mi Hybrid Pro HD but not as strong as the Top Basshead Earphones like the AUKEY EP-C3, KZ ZS2, Elecom EHP-CA3580, DZAT DF-10, Senfer 4in1, Plextone X50M or the Sony MDR-EX800ST.

Mids & Vocals
The QKZ DM1 mids are warm, lower mids and lower vocals sound clear and do not get recessed by mid-bass, higher mids sound crisp and well resolved without harsh peaks.
With an EQ lower vocals got clearer and mid-bass presence over lower mids got reduced but higher mids can get harsh.
Highs & Treble
The QKZ DM1 highs are clear and have good brightness but with little detail and no piercing highs nor sibilance. Normal listeners will probably be thrilled with their clear sound and non piercing peaks (remember that treble sensitivity is different in each person). More demanding listeners could like them too if they can live with the not so prominent level of resolved detail.
With an EQ highs open up noticeably, a big amount of brightness is added but not much more detail is resolved. Piercing highs do not show up but some subtle sibilance could appear with very sibilant songs.
Sound leaking out of the QKZ is fairly subdued with a leaking level below many average earphones. At moderate volume their leaking sound will not be hearable, only while setting an extremely high volume they could be an issue for library usage, instead during city use they will not be a problem at all even at max volume.

The sound isolation of the DM1 is noticeable yet not outrageously high unless you bump up the volume a quite bit. Setting a very low volume you will be aware of your surroundings, instead with a moderate-high volume onward the isolation will be very strong.
The bullet-styled form factor of the housings and the solid metal construction gives the QKZ DM1 a great level of comfort, at the same time their fit is tight and secure and will never fall off during normal daily activities.

Response to Equalization
The EQs applied to the QKZ DM1 showed substantial enrichment of most audio frequencies with very few issues. Bass became insanely punchy and deep; lower mids sounded clearer, mid-bass bleed got lowered but higher mids started to get harsh; highs became brighter but also sibilance showed up.
