| Double 6 mm Driver |
🎧 We are reviewing the QKZ KD7, a double dynamic driver earphone with a ridiculously affordable price.
The housings of the QKZ KD7 have an unusual look with 100% transparent plastics that let you easily see all the inner components as well as the 2 dynamic drivers. Moreover, they have a vertical disposition of their drivers (something that you can see in earphones such as the Somic V4)
The QKZ KD7 features a double dynamic driver configuration with two 6 mm dynamic driver per earpiece. As always, the tech specs of super budget Asian earphones should be taken with a grain of salt as they are rarely accurate and even contradictory. In fact, QKZ KD7 listings throw a plethora of opposing and fantasy tech specs like: 8mm neodymium drivers (despite diagrams indicating 6 mm drivers), noise cancelling and aptX lossless codec – trust us, all 3 specs make no sense.
QKZ sells many models and almost always offer a good bang for buck. Many of the QKZ earphones that we have reviewed have offered good sound at a couple of bucks but some models also did fall short in the sound quality department like the QKZ KD5. We will see after the QKZ KD7 soundtests if this is a worthy model or not.
The QKZ KD7 is compatible with Android and Apple devices.
You can buy the QKZ KD7 in transparent color and you can opt to get it with or without an inline mic/remote

Accessories & Packaging
The QKZ KD7 unboxing results in 3 pair of eartips, 1 pair of foam tips and a hard carrying/storage case. The case is also the packaging itself, this is the same as every other QKZ earphone from the last couple of years.
Bass & Sub Bass
The QKZ KD7 bass provides crazy punch and can get very deep. Their bass is clearly boosted and boomy, which EDM music listeners and bassheads will probably like.
Applying an EQ, bass becomes crazy deep and gain some extra punch.
During our extreme bass tests the QKZ KD7 were able to handle 40% of the maximum power of a Fiio E12 amplifier while being set to high gain and with bass boost turned on; a custom basshead EQ was used. As a result their bass got extremely powerful with even a mild rumble but could not reach the basshead potential of other earphones like the: KZ ATE, Xiaomi Mi Pro HD or the KZ ZST, KZ ZSR, Elecom EHP-CA3580, Xiaomi Mi In-Ear Headphones Pro.

Mids & Vocals
The QKZ KD7 mids present very strong mid-bass bleed, distinctly warm sound and very congested lower vocals. Higher mids are crisp and not rolled off, usually not too harsh but can show up some harshness with very strong peaks.
With an EQ lower vocals sound less congested but can risk to introduce some boxy sound.
Highs & Treble
The QKZ KD7 highs have no detail and a dark sounding style with some brightness. The reason behind this is mostly by their bass invading all the sound signature and darkening/muffling it. No piercing highs nor sibilance show up.
An EQ brightness up their highs and reveal some detail but their dark tint personality will always be present.
The sound that leaks out of the QKZ KD7 is almost absent and imperceptible, no matter how much you crank up the volume. This makes them a very capable choice for library usage or where silence is imperative.

Noise isolation is as strong as most average earphones; partial isolation is what you will get out of them unless you are planning to listen to music at a risky high volume.

The housings of the QKZ KD7 are larger than most earphones with a bullet design but still they are very light and surprisingly comfortable to wear. The additional pair of foam tips are an appreciated accessory that may be welcomed to users that prefer the fit of foam tips.

Response to Equalization
The response to EQ of the QKZ KD7 was somewhat poor with only strong and efficient results in the lower frequencies by adding a very noticeable amount of depth to their sub-bass.
