The TRN AS10 features an IPX7 waterproof rating, Bluetooth v4.1 and 6mm drivers (graphene drivers).

This year TRN has entered the audio market launching highly spec’ed earphones at crazy affordable prices. With the release of their TRN V20 and TRN V80 the brand gained a big number of happy audio enthusiasts on a tight budget. Still, most might not be aware that the brand has recently launched their first Bluetooth headphone, the TRN AS10.

The TRN AS10 is a neckbud/neckband styled wireless earphone, like the Xiaomi Mi Bluetooth Neckband Earphones LYXQEJ01JY, Bluedio T ENERGY TN ANC, MACAW TX-80 and not a classic Bluetooth headphone like the BlitzWolf BW-ANC1, Jaybird Freedom, Jabra Sport Pulse Wireless, Xiaomi Mi Sports Bluetooth Headphones, Siroflo BH-01.

The model name might confuse KZ fans as it is the same as their latest release, the KZ AS10 but there is no relation between these 2 models – in fact, both models are far from sharing any specs. The KZ AS10 is a wired 5-driver headphone with an all balanced armature configuration while the TRN AS10 is a single dynamic driver wireless Bluetooth headphone.

Operation & Control

The microphone/control of the TRN AS10 allows you to do the following:

Middle Button:

• A press and hold: Power On and set to pairing mode
• A single press: Play, Pause music
• Press and hold while turned ON: Power off

Volume UP Button:

• A single press: Volume up by 1 level
• A 1 second press and hold: Skip to next song

Volume Down Button:

• A single press: Volume down by 1 level
• A 1 second press and hold: Previous song

LED Status Light: The TRN AS10 have a led on the mic-control section that will inform you the power status, low battery and pairing mode.

Charging: The TRN AS10 are charged through the micro USB port placed under a rubber gasket on the right section of the neckbud.

The brand assure 9 hours of continuous use and 180 hours of standby time.

Accessories & Packaging

The TRN AS10 unboxing results in 3 pair of eartips and a micro USB charging cable. Everything comes inside a nice box with double door-like opening with magnetic closure.

Bass & Sub Bass

The TRN AS10 bass reaches nice depth and presents a bit of a bouncy mid-bass with good punch. Overall, their bass will fulfill mostly any genre but will not offer the cleanest lower frequencies that you can find.

Applying an EQ, their bass become noticeably punchier but mostly way deeper.

Mids & Vocals

The TRN AS10 mids are very warm with noticeable mid-bass bleed. Lower vocals are gentle and laid back while higher mids are sufficiently crisp and clear but not forward nor harsh.

An EQ is a great aid to clean and tidy up their mids with noticeable enhancement of their male vocals and some reduction of their invasive mid-bass, yet do not expect a groundbreaking makeover.

Highs & Treble

The TRN AS10 highs tend to a dark style with a very small amount of detail resolved and substantially rolled-off upper highs. Sibilance is barely present but some piercing peaks can arise.

An EQ makes does not reveal a huge difference despite a slight addition of brightness.

Sound Leak

The sound leaking out is slightly lower than on many average headphones, still expect them to be hearable by nearby people while listening to music at any volume setting above moderate.

Sound Isolation

The sound isolation provided by the TRN AS10 is fair but rarely absolute. At normal listening volume levels they will provide a partial isolation that could be useful for people needing some degree of awareness – if you dial up the volume their efficiency will exponentially increase.
