UiiSii HM7
| 9 mm Driver |
? UiiSii HM7 a tiny earphone of the great UiiSii, there is always something attractive with this brand.
In the past we reviewed the UiiSii Hi-705 and we found it pretty good regarding sound quality, robustly built and very originally designed; if you like UiiSii earphones you will be happy to know that we have other models being tested by our review team. The UiiSii HM7 are small, seriously small, the eartips are almost as big as the housings (as you may see on our photos in this review).
Sizewise it can be compared to the JBL T110, Sennheiser CX200, Somic MH403, SOUL K-POP. Despite the tiny size they hold inside a substantial 9 mm dynamic driver; considering the performance that the UiiSii Hi-705 were able to provide with the smaller 6 mm microdriver, we expect good news with the UiiSii HM7. The UiiSii HM7 are well constructed with metallic housings and details such as the cable bifurcation and mini stereo plug section, the inline mic/button is not made of metal but mimics perfectly the metallic material and finish used for the rest of the earphone, cable also matches the color of the earphones.
The cable is rubberized and can handle tangling problems pretty well, there is an inline microphone with a 1 button control that can be used to play/pause, skip tracks, answer/reject calls.
You can buy the UiiSii HM7 either in silver, pink or golden, as the one being reviewed here.

B
Bass & Sub Bass
The tiny size of the UiiSii HM7 may make you think that they will not be able to provide much bass response, instead they have a very fun bass with punchy mid-bass and deep sub-bass. The UiiSii HM7 do not struggle at all to provide excellent fun and energy to any music genre thrown at them.
Applying an EQ, there is a gigantic increase of punch and depth.
… they have a very fun bass with punchy mid-bass and deep sub-bass.
Under our extreme bass tests the minuscule UiiSii HM7 could handle a very respectable 51% of the maximum power provided by a Fiio E12 amplifier while set to high gain and with bass boost turned on; a custom basshead EQ was used too. The result of this strong amplification was an incredible enhancement of their mid-bass and sub-bass depth, their increment is so massive that they even provide an outstanding basshead rumble and impact. Expect a basshead level way above the KZ ATE, SOUL K-POP, Rock Zircon, URBANFUN HiFi , right below the Elecom EHP-CA3580, Xiaomi Mi Quantie Pro Hybrid/Xiaomi Mi Piston 4/Xiaomi Mi In-Ear Headphones Pro and above the Monoprice 8320, Vots QT100 and the Xiaomi Mi Pro HD.

M
Mids & Vocals
Mids are very warm and somewhat recessed by mid-bass but not excessively as to sound muffled, harshness is not a frequent issue unless very high notes are recurrent. For less demanding listeners, the mids of the UiiSii HM7 will be very good. An EQ, makes a drastic improvement of their lower mids and lower vocals with much clearer sound and not laid back as before but harshness becomes a problem, so it will be better not to feed up much of the higher mids.

H
Highs & Treble
The highs of the UiiSii HM7 are bright and have enough detail for normal listening sessions. In general they are not too piercing but can be mildly sibilant at some occasions; as always this depends on your degree of sensitivity to highs/treble. After using an EQ, there was a great enhancement of brightness as well as detail but sibilance became much more frequent and strong.

SL
Sound Leak
Sound leaking out of the HM7 is noticeably reduced in comparison to many average earphones. Sound levels will be perceivable by nearby people but in normally noisy situations they might blend, they are perfectly usable in most situations but intending to use them in libraries while listening to high volume might not be the best idea. For the best earphone in this matter you should check the KZ ATE.
7.75/10
SI
Sound Isolation
Sound isolation is good and on par with most well performing average earphones, they require the use of little higher volume levels to achieve very strong isolation.
7/10
C
Comfort
With super compact size, metallic housings and pleasing cables, the UiiSii HM7 are able to provide extraordinary comfort with tight fit that makes them hold their place without being annoying or generating pain even after long listening sessions. The way to put them in is straight forward fitting perfectly without having to fiddle like what may happen with some other earphones or with some custom-like iems as the KZ ZST, KZ ZS3 or the KZ ED12.
10/10
EQ
Response to Equalization
The UiiSii HM7 responded very well to most custom equalization applied; bass showed an extraordinary increase in mid-bass punch and sub-bass depth, mids and vocals were able to clear up drastically but harshness became too strong, highs obtained a huge amount of extra brightness and noticeable detail but sibilance became very frequent.
