Design

At first sight, the Arylic LP10 does not inspire any WOW factor nor fancy feel but the strength of LP10 is supposed to be its functionality and not its beauty.

On the top, though, the device has 4 touch-enabled, backlit buttons, while the front panel is equipped with a monochrome, 0.91″ OLED display.

The display might look tiny and less fancy than big color displays, yet the screen is smartly optimized to show useful information such as: volume, connection mode, EQ, pairing status, etc.

The screen can even show the artist and song of the current playing track over services such as Spotify.

When turned off, users might think that the display of the LP10 has the size of all the glass-alike front panel, but the effective size is actually 1/3 of this front panel, the right and left extremes are used for the IR sensor, LED light, etc.

The Arylic LP10 is, certainly, much smaller and lighter than most audio components of most audio systems; specifically, the LP10 measure 108x72x26.6mm and weights around 0.5kg.

Operation & Control

The harmless looks of the Arylic LP10 might not make you imagine that the unit can be controlled with either the bundled IR remote, touch sensitive buttons and wirelessly through a compatible mobile app and now incorporating compatibility with mainstream Google Cast and Apple Airplay 2.

An “issue” that we found while testing the LP10 was that If getting slightly out of the delimited button’s marks it resulted in the detection of an adjacent button input registered instead of the one pressed.

The IR remote, on the other hand, was very practical and one of the best companions to operate the unit without hassle as the remote control has 15 physical buttons that allow immediate access to functions and settings that can be less intuitive or even inaccessible through the touch buttons or mobile app.

Of course, to gain access to streaming services you will need to get through the app configuration, pairing and setup process.

Construction & Build

The all-plastic construction and its weightless-as-a-snowflake nature, can make it feel fragile and a bit cheap but it might come handy to some users wanted an inconspicuous device able to be placed anywhere with little effort.

The fact that the Arylic LP10 is powered by USB is just genius, not only presenting a crazy-low power consumption but also giving absolute freedom to be powered by USB chargers with low amperage of 1A or even through the USB port of a computer.

C

Connectivity

Despite the tiny size and cheap price, the Arylic LP10 is well equipped regarding connectivity, including:
• 1x 3.5mm line in
• 1x 3.5mm line out
• Type-C USB (power and PC connection)
• LAN RJ45 port
• Optical out
• WiFi
• Bluetooth
• USB-A for USB disks (limited to 1000 songs and 16GB)
Every other network-enabled device from Arylic worked right away and was configured without issues through the Go Control app, but we had a hard time getting it to complete the setting up process, remaining stuck at Scanning AP.
The setup process informs that this will take some time but we left the device and phone for over 30 minutes with no success. We have reviewed about a dozen of devices from Arylic and this is the first one to not work as intended. We are hoping that we got a lemon and it is an isolated issue, yet we have seen other owners of the LP10 informing the same problem. It is important to highlight that this happened on 2 different Samsung phones running on an older Android 13, but the LP10 did not encounter any problem at all when we paired it with different Android Pen Tablets (Android 14+) that we own and with an iPad and iPhone. Once the first initial setup was completed with the other devices, the LP10 worked without issues with the older Samsung phones.
Connection tech specs:
• Net: 10/100M RJ45
• Bluetooth: 5.0
• WiFi: Dual-band 802.11 ac 2.4GHz & 5GHz
Sound-related tech specs:
• Optical: 24bit 192kHz
• 3.5mm analog: 1 Vrms
• Streaming: 96kHz/24bit

S

Sound

The LP10 ditches the proprietary multiroom connectivity system from Arylic and uses a more diffused standard with Google and Apple services; this will be good news for users getting the LP10 as their first Arylic multiroom device but it will be the opposite for users that have been building an ecosystem with previous models from the brand that used Arylic’s proprietary connectivity, as they are not compatible between each other – also the LP10 does no longer work with 4STREAM app, which some Arylic owners prefer over the newer Go Control app.

From a stability and sound quality point of view, the Arylic LP10 was responded with good sound and no pain to use once you bypass the possible pairing issues and with some EQ presets built-in and selectable through the IR remote or touch buttons.

On the other hand, the Go Control app lacked customizations to the sound profile and flavor of the LP10 without enabling access to bass, treble, balance nor EQ customization functions.

Of course, the incorporation of Google Cast and Apple AirPlay 2 was a main and welcomed feature to centralize the multi-room and home control of users into a more mainstream and widely spread service compatible with all sort of devices.

If your intention is to build up a multi-room system, you will need to know that you will need to buy several LP10 units but will have all coherently constructed into an unified ecosystem.

In addition to the multi-room capabilities, we like the LP10 as a non-official hardware upgrade to other high-performing sound systems that we have in the office but that are “dumb” or not as rich-featured, network-enabled and/or lacking wireless connectivity.
