? CCA CA24, the newest flagship earphone from CCA.
The CCA CA24 is a 12-driver earphone with an all-balanced armature driver design – users should not be confused by the marketing “24 driver” naming typical of CCA and KZ, this is a 12 driver earphone and not a 24 driver earphone.
The drivers inside each earpiece are 1x 22955s BA, 1x29689s BA, 1x 30019s BA, 1x 30095s BA, 2x 30017s BA, 6x 50024s BA.
All these drivers belong to the new premium BA line from the brand, called “Black Gold King Kong Series”.
According to the brand, each driver has the following coverage:
- 22955s: 7 to 200Hz
- 29689s: 150 to 600Hz
- 30095s: Above 8000Hz
- 30019s: Above 8000Hz
- 30017s: 2000 to 5000Hz
- 50024s: 6000 to 8000Hz
From the aforementioned specs, seems strange that, despite having so many drivers, there is no coverage above 8kHz.

The CCA CA24 come in small packaging, holding inside the bi-pin cable, a 3 pair of eartips.

Bass & Sub Bass
The CCA CA24 is a rare bass sounding earphone, with a boomy mid-bass that, still, does not sound too punchy.
Additionally, when looking at its sub-bass, the 12 drivers of the CCA24 fall short of reach and deepness.
Notes in the sub-bass ranges will feel partially empty and anemic on most tracks.

Mids & Vocals
Oddly, the CCA CA24 shows an overly warm midrange with excessive mid bass bleed.
Consequently, the lower midrange and male vocals on this earphone will sound too congested for a flagship earphone with 12 drivers.
Higher mids and female vocals, still, show a clear warming effect from the overly-bleeding bass but this might make them less forward to some listeners.
In addition to this, their upper mids exhibit a bit of a shy tuning with, probably, a way too laid back and recessed presence.
On the other hand, this will be a completely harshness-free earphone.

Highs & Treble
The CCA CA24 has an awkward tuning, with a fairly decent detail and response up to 6000Hz but a clear excess of roll-off on the top end.
As a result of this, its sound has a strange effect that might confuse listeners; a mixed sensation between darkness, muddiness but fairly detailed sound will be present on most tracks.
Despite the dark profile, somehow the CCA CA24 shows hot peaks on both sibilance and piercing highs.

EQ
Response to Equalization
Unfortunately, the CCA CA24 has way too many tuning issues that no EQ was able to fix.
Slight improvement could be seen on their lower mids and upper mids but upper highs and bass were impossible to re tune.

The driver´s specs coverage seen in the introduction listed a 8kHz limit and indeed this reflected in the testing and review of the CCA CA24, with a clear roll-off starting at 6kHz and becoming drastic at 8kHz and above.
