🎧 We are reviewing the CCA CRA, a new budget-friendly earphone from CCA.

The CCA CRA is introduced as a budget model from the brand, yet as seen on most recent KZ and CCA models, cheaper does not mean worse than expensive models from their catalog – in this case, we will evaluate if the CCA CRA is part of this new cheap but decent models.

The unit is equipped with a single dynamic driver per side, which has a 10mm diameter and a polymer diaphragm.

Despite the cheap price, the CRA has a detachable cable design with bi-pin 0.75mm connectors.

The CCA CRA come in small packaging, holding inside the bi-pin cable, a 3 pair of eartips.

Bass & Sub Bass

The CCA CRA offers a nicely achieved bass tuning with a well-balanced punch:fun ratio that can provide the needed mid-bass punch while keeping it´s bass in place.

In addition to this, it´s sub-bass is able to provide deepness and a decent reach without suffering from drastic roll-off.

Consequently, bass will sound tight and non-invasive yet never anemic, allowing it to be a versatile and competent model in the bass department.

Mids & Vocals

Mids on the CCA CRA have a clean and well-balanced sound.

Lower mids show a pleasant amount of warmth without getting muddy while male vocals are full, yet gentle.

It is worth noting, though, that male vocals might be a tad laid back on some tracks.

On top of that, higher mids show good crispness and clarity while female vocals exhibit a lively but sometimes too shouty and bit harsh peaks.

Highs & Treble

Highs on the CCA NRA are clearly bright with no layered darkness at any given time.

In addition to this, this CCA earphone does a decent job providing a bit of detail.

On the other hand, the upper end might feel a bit too forward on many tracks, showing peaks that can become disturbing and way too hot.

In fact, the CCA NRA suffers from frequent and intense piercing and sibilant highs.

The CCA CRA uses the same small and curvy earpieces form factor as the CCA NRA, KZ ZST and KZ EDX PRO; all models with proven excellence in comfort and fit.
