D
DESIGN

4.5/5
The ALLPOWERS S2000 has less of a stylish aesthetic than the ALLPOWERS R600 that we have reviewed in the past, and adopts a more “workhorse machine” look.
This model can be considered mid-large-sized in battery capacity and also in footprint; as a point of reference, the unit’s size is more than twice the R600 – the exact dimensions of the ALLPOWERS S2000 are 14.76×9.64×9.84in/37.5 x 24.5 x 25.0 cm.
Despite being 2+ times bigger the R600, the ALLPOWERS S2000 has more than 3 times the continuous capacity at 2000W and nearly 4 times the peak surge at 4000W.
The S2000 has a brick styled shape with a rectangular form factor and a wider than taller extension, divided in a 2-section case with a top black one and a main shell made of dark grey color.
On the lateral sides of the top cover you will notice 2 large handles that are an essential detail to be able to manage and move around the power station with ease.
The solar panels come in a self-containing foldable case that reveals the panels when unfolded. When the panels are open, the foldable case offers a kickstand to keep the unit standing on its own.

DS
DISPLAY SCREEN

4.5/5
The front of the power station is equipped with a large display that gives users access to the full information, status and condition of the power station and solar panels output.
The display provides a user-friendly and intuitive feature to the power station with large sharp fonts, a multi-colored display and a backlit design that eases the visibility even in complete darkness.
The LCD display provides real-time details such as a percentage and five-segment battery status, input/output current watts, frequency mode, remaining battery runtime in hours and minutes and a full array of icons that inform the output modes being active and, also, alarm-related icons.
CB
CONSTRUCTION & BUILD

4.5/5
Despite the looks and rugged feel, the external case of the ALLPOWERS S2000 is nearly all made of plastic – including the large thick handles.
Inside, the ALLPOWERS S2000 carries a large 405405mAh battery (1500Wh) and a pure sinewave inverter; as LiFePO4 batteries are seen all over the market, you might think that the S2000 uses LiFePO4 batteries but it does not, this specific model is equipped with ternary lithium battery. These are another type of Lithium-ion batteries that usually seen inside electric cards due to the lighter weight than LiFePO4 batteries.
Of course, being a mid-large power station with a big battery inside, the ALLPOWERS S2000 has some weight to it (14.5KG/31.96lbs) but it is much lighter than similar competitors with batteries as big as in the S2000 (thanks to the ternary batteries, as detailed in the paragraph above)
n both sides of the power station, the unit has been designed with ventilation grids and an active fans on each side to keep the generator at optimal operational thermals.
The solar panels included with our kit are the ALLPOWERS SP033, which have a peak power of 200W provided by the polysilicon solar cells.
The solar panels are well protected with its self-foldable transport case made of nylon fabric.

OPERATION & CONTROL

4.75/5
Either users with experience with power stations or new owners without any experience will find the ALLPOWERS S2000 intuitive and user-friendly with a low learning curve.
This is thanks to the use of large, well-labeled and backlit buttons and a big, clear display screen.
The power station has, simply, 3 buttons that allow the full operation and configuration of the device.
From left to right, you will find a power button (also used to activate Bluetooth pairing and use), AC on/off output, DC on/off output.
When paired wirelessly through Bluetooth with the ALLPOWERS mobile app, users will have access to information and control of the main uses of the power station through the app in your smartphone.
The main info and options available through the app are: battery status, remaining battery charge and runtime, real time input/output watts, activating/deactivation of AC and DC output ports, frequency selection (Hz).

SAFETY FEATURES

4.75/5
From a safety point of view and also to optimize the life of your unit, it is important to keep the device far away from risky conditions and have an immediate alarm if something goes wrong.
ALLPOWERS has taken care of the safety features of the S2000 including a built-in overload sensor and alarm with a dedicated icon and an over-temperature sensor alarm. The first one will trigger whenever the power output (either DC, AC and car port) exceed the max. power output that the power station can handle; the temperature safety control system will automatically get into action when the temperature of the AC inverted goes above 95 degrees Celsius, entering a safe mode that will shutdown all AC ports.

Moreover the power station, also, includes sensors and protection systems for:
• Low temperature
• Over discharge
• Short circuit
• Overcharge
• Overcurrent
In addition to this, the AC ports, car port and solar input socket are protected by gasket covers but the USB ports are exposed without any covers.
C
CONNECTIVITY

4.75/5
In total, the ALLPOWERS S2000 13 I/O connectors that include:
• 4x AC outlets (2000W)
• 4x USB-A (max 24W)
• 2X USB-C PD 100W
• 1x car output (13V 10A)
• 1X solar input (70V max)
• 1x AC input
Despite the vast number of connectors, the unit can handle all outputs connected to 11 devices running at the same time, as long as the added load capacity does not exceeds the power capacity of the power station.
On top of that, the unit can be safely used while charging.
To charge the ALLPOWERS S2000, users can opt to use the AC input with a max. power consumption of 400W or recharge the internal battery with solar panels with a max. output of 500W and 70V.
A full recharge is estimated to take 4 to 5 hours with the AC 400W input from a wall outlet and 3 to 4 hours from 500W solar panels if your weather conditions and panels are able to sustain constant 500W for all the 4 hours – you can also charge it through your car’s cigarette lighter connector through the XT60 input and car adapter.
Furthermore, the power station accepts dual charging through the AC and solar inputs at the same time, boosting the charging input potential to 900W coming from the 400W of AC and 500W from solar panels and achieving a fast charging time of merely 1.5 hours.
The type of AC connectors that you get with your ALLPOWERS S2000 will depend on the region model that you are buying, being different for the US, EU and UK models.
V
VERSATILITY

4.75/5
Thanks to the large battery capacity, yet fairly small and portable size, the ALLPOWERS S2000 becomes a very competent power generator for smaller appliances for longer runtimes or large electronics and gadgets that have a hungry power consumption.
Moreover, the dual charging system of AC and solar panels combined with the big battery can even transform the ALLPOWERS into a power system for small caravans or to cover all the power requirements for a camping weekend trip.
On top of that, the S2000 can be used as a home backup system for essential appliances in case of a power outage.
If this was not versatile enough, the load capacity and large battery allows this ALLPOWERS power generator with the solar panels to offer either a backup emergency recharge for electric cars or a fair power solution for the trendy “van life”
P
PERFORMANCE

5/5
With its large 1500Wh internal battery, the ALLPOWERS S2000 was able to maintain up and running most of the tested appliances through remarkably respectable times.
The test and measurements that we did included the following results:
• AC, 25W fan running constantly= 51 hours
• AC, MiniPC + USB-C FHD 16″ Monitor= 9:30 hours
• AC, Router= 85 hours
• AC, Premium Laser Engraver= 10:25 hours
• AC, 40″ TV= 12:45 hours
• AC, Pro 22″ Graphics Monitor Pen Display= 35:20 hours
• AC, 1080p Projector= 14:10 hours
• AC, 3D Resin Printer= 18:15 hours
• AC, 3D FDM Printer= 5:19 hours
• AC, 575W Mini Espresso Machine= 450 espresso coffees
• AC, 60W Photography Studio LED Light= 21:15 hours
• DC, Outdoor Security Camera= 450 hours
• DC CAR, portable air compressor/tire inflator= 20:08 hours
• DC portable fridge: 67:30 hours
Overall, the ALLPOWERS S2000 exhibited excellent efficiency of the batteries and a slight advantage when discharge was coming from DC outputs than AC outputs.
Unlike the ALLPOWERS R600, the S2000 does not include an UPS function; if you want an S2000 that is also an UPS you will need to jump into the pro version.
We proceeded to measure the output of the USB ports, which all showed to reach the listed 24W for the USB-A ports and the PD-100W for the USB-C.
Furthermore, we proceeded to check if the SP033 200W panels were truly able to provide the rated 200W max. power. On full-sunny days on the Sun’s peak intensity hours (midday) the panels had no issue reaching 200W of output; of course day hours near dusk and dawn, overcast or partially cloudy situations did show a reduction of the output wattage provided.
When testing the charging speeds, we noticed a fast top up to 99% and a slower time for the remaining 1% but which summed up feel within the 4 to 5 hours of charging time when using the AC input and a noticeable reduction of the total recharge time when combined and adding the 200W of charging input from the solar panels.
