We are reviewing the DT NO.1 DT Watch Ultra, the latest smartwatch release from DTNO1.

In the past we have reviewed several watches from DT NO.1 and have found that all of them offered a super value for money with a crazy affordable retail price, we will see if the DT NO.1 DT Watch Ultra is up to the level of the other watches reviewed to date like the:

Design

The DT NO.1 DT Watch Ultra has an hybrid design with a square shell but a rounded, classic front dial.

If you are a consumer that follows the trend of new gadgets, you might have noticed that the DT NO.1 DT Watch Ultra has a clear “inspiration” on the newest smartwatch from Samsung.

Among the options available for the DT NO.1 DT Watch Ultra, we are reviewing the dark silver model which we find it to be the nicest of all the color options, in fact, in our opinion, the DT Watch Ultra is the best looking non-Apple-styled watch from DT No1. so far.

The watch has 3 physical buttons aligned on the right edge of the shell, being the top and button one buttons and the middle one a knob with button press function too. The full operation and control of the device is done with the combination of these 3 buttons and the touch-sensitive screen.

The brand has opted for a smooth, non-textured finish over the rotary encoder of the DT Watch Ultra, which does tend to be a bit more slippery than the one of the DT Watch 10 Anniversary and also less accurate than the one of the DT Ultra 2 but on recent firmware upgrades the brand has added a haptic feedback to this knob.

On the left edge of the shell you will see an open-grid detail, this is where the speaker and mic are hidden. On the bottom of the watch you can find the health sensors and the charging system protected beneath a transparent cover.

As with all modern watches from the brand, the DT NO.1 DT Watch Ultra offers endless health and sports features like:

Battery Life

Internally, the DT Watch Ultra has the same battery as the DT Watch 10 Anniversary but smaller than on the DT Watch X (240 mAh, vs 390 mAh)

Despite the capacity difference, the DT Watch Ultra was able to cover 7 days of normal use without needing to be recharged.

On top of that, this model has inherited nice charging cradle/dock that is way better than the bi-pin cable used by most competitors (TOZO S5, TOZO S3, SoundPeats Watch 3, SoundPeats Watch 2)

Construction & Build

Besides the rugged metal construction of the DT ULTRA, this model incorporates some features that enhance its durability like a bezels design which are bigger than the display dial and also protrudes a bit over the level of the glass of the panel, this gives it an added layer of protection for impact hits and drops, sort of a less bulky-protruding idea behind the G-Shock watches.

Moreover, the dial is reinforced by a tempered glass having great resistance to scratches and prolonging the life of the watch.

The guts of the watch have been inherited from other of the newest watches from DT NO.1, including:

○ 2.5D accelerometer
○ eMMC memory chip
○ DA267 G-sensor
○ HX3918 heart rate sensor
○  Quick swappable wristband design

Screen

The screen of the DT NO.1 DT Watch Ultra has a slightly boosted size than others from the brand with a max. size of 1.5″ combined with a resolution of 360x360mAh. The screen itself is touch sensitive with support for both touch and gestures.

Regarding the quality of the screen, the resolution and size balance perfectly to offer sharp and detailed text, images and icons while the contrast, saturation, colors and viewing angles are remarkably good in all lighting conditions.

As a result of a larger square bezel than the effective size of the dial screen, the overall footprint of the watch is larger than what a competitor watch with a 1.5″ screen size would be but still remains within and harmonic and nice looking dimension.

We noticed that initially, there were significantly less watch dials available to download for this model but it got plenty of new ones with a recent software update.

Comfort

The ruggedness and all-metal build of the DT NO.1 DT Watch Ultra can be felt on its weight as it is noticeably heavier than the DT ULTRA 2 and DT X Anniversary but it is still overly heavy as to become uncomfortable or induced early fatigue on the wrists.

The large dial/shell and very nice wristbands provided with the watch provided endless adjustment to fit any wrist’s sizes and proved to be secure and snug to withstand any daily situation without risking to lose the watch.

Performance

As soon as we got the DT NO.1 DT Watch Ultra we were welcomed with the same snappy and responsive performance of other DT NO.1 watches reviewed but we also noticed that the watch had some glitches from time to time; despite this, a recent firmware upgrade solved and removed all the glitches that we had noticed initially.

As with other recent DT NO.1 watches, the DT NO.1 DT Watch Ultra is equipped with an internal disk of 4GB, so users can upload photos, music files and even video files to the watch and view/listen them without the need of any phone.

A couple of features that we saw being listed and inherited from the DTNO.1 DT Watch X 10th Anniversary and DT ULTRA 2, were the double-tap to turn on screen and palm to turn off gesture but they did not seem to be working on the DT NO.1 DT Watch Ultra.

Another detail that we do not love is the fact that no watch from DT NO.1 includes sound app notifications despite having a dedicated speaker.

Nonetheless, having a speaker is still a major added feature over other budget watches, allowing phone calls, music listening, video watching, etc.

By having a Bluetooth chip can act either as a receiver or transmitter so it can connect to a phone to receive notifications or calls but it can also transmit audio for phone calls or even connect it to Bluetooth earphones and use the watch as a media/music player.

When testing the DT NO.1 DT Watch Ultra, the device never missed a phone call, SMS notification nor app notification while the vibrating motor was strong to be alerted even while driving or walking through the city.
