A
ACCESSORIES & PACKAGING
4.5/5
Unlike the Fantech Shooter III, the FANTECH EOS PRO II comes inside a nicer packaging and including much more accessories/addons:
• USB-C cable
• Wireless dongle
• 2x D-Pads
• 3 aim ring sets
• 1x extra thumbstick set
D
DESIGN
4.5/5
The FANTECH EOS PRO II uses the Xbox controller form factor design and layout unlike the NOVA PRO that has, for example, inline thumbsticks.
If you come from Xbox controllers you will feel safe at home with the FANTECH EOS PRO II as thumbsticks, D-pad and button labeling are all identical.
In addition to this, the FANTECH EOS PRO II includes 2 rear paddles, trigger locks, 6 extra buttons on the front shell (for extra functions such as Turbo, Macros, programming, vibration level)
All of these sum up to a total of 16 buttons (triggers and bumpers included).
It is fair to mention that the Buttons are not backlit like on the EOS PRO and NOVA PRO.
Likewise the case is not as semi-translucent as on other gamepads, therefore the RGB lighting of the board will not shine-through. In fact, as per lighting goes, you will get a “halo” around the thumbsticks and a bit in the surrounding areas but if the room is not too dark you might miss out there effect under the shell/case. Worth highlighting, though, that this corresponds only to the flagship PRO II S model, the cheaper models have backlit buttons and faceplate shell.

The FANTECH EOS PRO II can be purchased in several different colors (limited to tier variant):
• FANTECH EOS PRO II white
• FANTECH EOS PRO II black
• FANTECH EOS PRO II grey
• FANTECH EOS PRO II S Geminus
• FANTECH EOS PRO II S Star Two
The model that we are reviewing is the FANTECH EOS PRO II S Geminus which has a textured rear/bottom case and a smooth, textureless top cover.

CONSTRUCTION & BUILD
4.75/5
By the asking price and plastic shell of the gamepad you might not imagine that the Fantech EOS II PRO hides beneath the surface some premium specs and components such as:
• Mechanical switches/buttons
• Mechanical switches for the D-pad
• TMR anti-drift magnetic thumbsticks
• Internal motion sensor
• Adjustable rumble motor
Note that all these components are only included in the top-tier EOS II PRO S variant.
The brand has clearly retuned the feel of the sticks and triggers, having a much more finely controllable travel with the triggers being a bit heavier – which we highly appreciate over overly light and imprecise triggers.
As you will read further ahead in the performance section, the introduction of mechanical tech to the buttons and D-pad is a gamechanger.
C
CUSTOMIZATION
4.25/5
Hardware-wise, the Fantech EOS PRO II S can be customized with the bundled addons, allowing users to fine-tune the feel of the gamepad.
Either by choosing between the 3 styles of D-pads or by switching the short or tall thumbsticks and tune their feel with the aim O-rings sets.
On top of that, the device includes built-in macro programmability and mappable rear paddles.
On the other hand, you will have to learn the shortcuts to do all of this as the EOS PRO II does not have any type of PC software to set and customize it.
CON
CONNECTIVITY
5/5
The Fantech EOS II PRO has a tri-mode connectivity design, being able to connect through a Bluetooth connection with the built-in BT module, using 2.4G wireless tech with the bundled dongle or wired with a detachable USB-C cable system.
Either using it through the wired or 2.4G modes, the EOS II PRO can reach 1000Hz of polling rate (only the S version) for more competitive gaming sessions.
On the rear bottom of the case you will find a multi-position switch, this serves to set the gamepad in the platform compatible mode of your choice (Nintendo Switch, Android, Windows, iOS)
The only “cons” of this switch is that each mode is very hard to see/read as it is engraved with no highlighted color, using a white over white color design. Similar to most other gamepads from the brand, the EOS II PRO does not have a dedicated power off button and goes into deep-sleep after some idle time.

P
PERFORMANCE
5/5
If you buy the flagship variant of the Fantech EOS II PRO gamepads (EOS PRO II S) you will experience a groundbreaking upgrade in comparison to any other competitor at this price range.
The massive upgrade that you will gain will be the day and night difference of owning a gamepad with mechanical switches/buttons. Maybe explaining it in with an example with keyboards will be more clear; the difference with the EOS II PRO S with mechanical buttons (against membrane gamepads) is as equivalently noticeable as with cheap membrane keyboards vs mechanical keyboards.
The feel and performance of these mechanical switches/buttons is way above the level of any membrane gamepad.
Moreover, you can smash and spam press them with a responsiveness on its own class and you will never again have to deal with mushy, clunky buttons (like on the MANBA ONE gamepad) – this also applies to the D-pad as it is also mechanical.
To be honest, the price difference between the EOS II PRO and EOS II PRO S is almost ridiculously insignificant that it would make no sense to avoid getting the way more advanced and superior flagship variant (EOS PRO II S)
B
BATTERY
4.5/5
Another benefit of investing in the top tier variant of the EOS PRO II models (EOS PRO II S) is almost twice the battery capacity of the entry-level siblings.
Specifically offering a battery with 1000mAh of juice instead of 600mAh.
