Size-wise, the Jartoo Apalos FlexHT offers a smart dimension to be used in several different ways while covering a large area; with a size of 60×50 inches, the unit works well as a heated blanket for:

– Couch sitting
– Chair sitting
– Couch relaxing/nap
– Camping (if you have a power source)
– Van life
– Sleeping blanket (partially)
– Pain treatment
– Muscle relaxing
– Blood circulation stimulation

On the other hand, we would had loved if the blanket was a tiny bit bigger to cover the dimensions of a bed sheet to be comfortably usable as an all-night sleeping blanket replacement with full body coverage.

As you can see from the photos below, and as typical of velvet fabrics, the aesthetics and color of the blanket will be different according to the way towards that you comb it.

The blanket is made of 320gsm velvet fabric, which feels gentle to the touch and smooth, giving it a more premium sensation than average blankets.

Internally, the Jartoo Apalos FlexHT Heated Blanket uses a 5-layer carbon nanotech design

On top of that, thanks to the carbon nanotube technology, the blanket will still work if a section of the blanket gets cut or damaged.

Moreover, the Jartoo blanket ensures spill resistance and to be fully washable in a washing machine and supports cycles under 149 degrees (F) with drying machines.

To ensure that there are no risks of damaging the electric system, the 2-section cable connection has a dedicated zip-closing pocket in one of the corners of the blanket – same corner as the multifunction button.

OPERATION & CONTROL

It is nice seeing that the blanket has a 2-system design for powering and controlling the temperature presets; either through the remote control or with the physical button on the angle of the blanket. So, in case that the remote gets lost, breaks or if stops recharging, then you can still use 90% of the blanket’s features without risking to have an unusable product.

The physical button will change color according to the temperature preset selected or if it is set in pairing mode.

On the remote you will see a screen that displays the temperature preset, battery charge, connectivity and timer.

In total you will find 6 buttons on the remote, 2 are for selecting the temp. preset, 2 for setting the timer, a power button and a dedicated button to turn on/off the button-styled light on the blanket.

For longevity reasons, we would had preferred a remote control with standard AAA or AA batteries than a USB-rechargeable one without replaceable batteries – but this is not the market’s trend.

The remote control pairs through a Bluetooth connection with the blanket, which ensures an easy system where you do not need to aim the remote to an IR receiver; throughout all the time testing the blanket, the remote needed to be re-paired only once.

If you are used to common heated blankets you might expect the feel of scorching hot temperatures and ending up sweating; well, this is not the case for the Jartoo Apalos FlexHT Heated Blanket with its advanced tech and system gives a more gradually smooth, gentle and natural heating sensation but at the same time a faster time to reach selected temperature.

The blanket heated up faster than others tested independently of the selected temperatures (95℉, 102℉, 110℉, 117℉, 124℉, 131℉)

Depending on the positioning of the blanket, the heating across the unit’s area can tend to be uneven. In fact, the blanket heats up with a different operational style as the surface parts that are in touch with the body do heat up but the rest does not.

A detail that we found quite nice was the fact that the blanket can be transformed into a sort of coat wrapping around your body and using it standing or sitting – this is done by connecting the 4 clip buttons on 2 of the 4 corners of the blanket.

Another significant difference with other heated blankets on the market is that the unit is designed with a 24V system, thus, avoiding any electric shock coming from high voltage power designs.

Seeing the quickness and heat offered by the Jartoo Apalos FlexHT Heated Blanket we were impressed when measuring the power consumed by the device, being as little as 71W and was even way below it (averaged) when setting any temperature preset besides the max. (Level 6)
