? Langsdom JM21, one of the most sold pair of earphones in Aliexpress with an insanely affordable price. Langsdom is a brand with a catalog of nearly 50 different earphones, headphones and Bluetooth earphones; the brand is mostly well known for their ultra budget-friendly prices.  You can see many of their products here. The Langsdom JM21 feature flat cables and a fairly large 10 mm dynamic driver inside housings that are made of plastic and are very light weighted, the cables besides being flat are substantially rubberized and do a very good job against tangling issues. Because of their low selling price you will probably doubt about the Langsdom JM21’s sound quality but we have reviewed other of the most sold earphones on Aliexpress like the Inpher Fuqing B-2 (check the review: Inpher Fuqing B-2 Review) that had a similar price tag and resulted to be one of the Best Bang for the Buck Earphones, so we will see during the Langsdom JM21 soundtests how they perform. Some sellers ship the Langsdom JM21 inside a zip bag and others with the original packaging. The original packaging is a hard plastic triangular transparent box, inside the box you get the earphones, 2 extra pairs of eartips and a cable clip.

Bass & Sub Bass

The 10 mm dynamic driver of the Langsdom JM21 provides a highly energetic bass response with very punchy mid-bass and crazy deep sub-bass right out-of-the-box. Mid-bass is so strong that, unfortunately, can sound boomy too. Applying an EQ, bass gets insanely punchy and deep but also very boomy. During our extreme bass tests the Langsdom JM21 were able to handle 48% of the maximum power of a Fiio E12 amplifier while being set to high gain and with bass boost turned on; a custom basshead EQ was used. This extreme amplification resulted in a jaw-dropping enhancement of punch and depth that reached a basshead level of impact and rumble sitting above the level of the KZ ATE, Xiaomi Mi Pro HD or the SOUL K-POP but below the earphones that are part of the Top Basshead Chart like the Elecom EHP-CA3580, Xiaomi Mi In-Ear Headphones Pro or the KZ ZST.

Mids & Vocals

Mids of the Langsdom JM21 are very warm and exhibit a lot of mid-bass bleed. Lower vocals still manage to fight back in the boomy sound environment but due to the strong mid-bass bleed the overall sound is congested. Higher mids are crisp and are usually not harsh. Mids of the Langsdom JM21 will sound different if fitted loose. Mid-bass will be highly reduced and consequently also the recession on lower mids generated by the strong mid-bass bleed, making lower vocals sound much more clear and less congested With an EQ lower mids get less overstepped by mid-bass, sounding clearer but also a bit boxy. Higher mids start to get harsh.

Highs & Treble

The Langsdom JM21 highs have no detail at all and have a very dark sounding style with some bright peaks. At times of strong high frequency peaks piercing highs may be perceived, sibilance is present but not too strong. As with mids, the sound of the Langsdom JM21 changes radically according to it’s fit, if you place them a bit less deeper inside the ears their highs will sound less dark and more piercing. With an EQ sibilance and piercing highs get slightly stronger, some added brightness is gained but still no detail is resolved.

Sound Leak

The sound that leaks out of these plastic earphones is slightly higher than most average earphones. Nearby people will be able to hear sound coming out of your earphones but they will blend with noisy city situations, on less noisy places their sound leaking level will be more strongly heard.

Sound Isolation

Noise isolation is quite good, better than most average earphones in a fairly perceivable level. Moderate to low levels of volume can be set and the Langsdom JM21 will still provide a pretty effective level of isolation.

Comfort

The light weight of the housings, the effective flat anti-tangling cable and the classic form factor of the earpieces result in an easy to handle, easy to wear experience with no discomfort or pain generated.

Response to Equalization

The Langsdom JM21 had a fair response to EQ with some issues too. Bass got insanely deep and punchy but the boomy personality got enhanced too. Mids got clearer lower mids but harshy higher mids. Highs gained brightness but not detail.
