A

Accessories & Packaging

The MEIZU POP unboxing results in a battery pack/charging case, 3 pair of silicone eartips, 2 pair of special silicone sleeves with secure wings and a USB Type-C charging cable.

The unit comes inside a square box with a small and clean design – the size of the packaging is sort of inline with the Xiaomi Mi In-Ear Headphones Pro 2, LEZII X12 and larger than the Xiaomi Mi Dual Driver Earphones.

B

Bass & Sub Bass

The MEIZU POP bass is rich and full sounding but not overly bassy nor invasive. Being more incisive, their lower frequencies have a stronger mid-bass response than sub-bass but does not sound off nor unbalanced at all.

Instead, MEIZU achieved a fun tuning that does not fall into bass-only sound nor into a muffled/muddy mess.

Applying an EQ there is a huge empowerment of punch and noticeable added depth, making their sound much more bassy and less clean.

M

Mids & Vocals

The MEIZU POP mids offer non-distant male vocals (but with slight congestion), higher mids and female vocals are clear but smooth with a balanced amount of crispness that is not forward nor recessed.

Overall, their mids result in a pleasant, warm and never harsh sound.

With an EQ their mids can be fine tuned for clearer lower mids and male vocals and pushed for some additional crispness, yet they will not turn into a harsh sounding earphone.

H

Highs & Treble

The MEIZU POP highs resolve an unexpectedly good amount of detail and will offer sufficient brightness for non-audiophile listeners that do not matter or prefer a darkish tint over higher frequencies.

Sibilance, piercing highs and fatiguing peaks are not issues present with the MEIZU POP.

An EQ adds brightness and detail to their highs making them nearly-free of their darkish tint and sound much more refined.

Sound Leak

The sound leaking out of the MEIZU POP will blend in during normal sports activities but will be heard by nearby people in more quiet situations.

The leakage is not excessive, it will never be an issue in everyday city situations and daily commuting but they are not well-adapted for library usage.
