QCY Crossky C50, the newest model of the Crossky series of QCY earphones.

The QCY Crossky C50 join their catalog as the latest generation of the clip-styled earphones from the brand including a whole new redesign over older models and new specs.

Inside each earpiece, the Crossky C50 sport a 10.8mm dynamic driver (carbon fiber diaphragm) with dual magnets which promise to offer a significant bass boost over previous models.

The internal battery of the earphones are rated at 7.5 hours of continuous playback time and reaching up to 35 hours when using the additional charges offered by the case.

Other of the newer specs include the latest Bluetooth V6 and a IPX5 waterproof rating to adapt to sports usage without risks.

The QCY Crossky C50 come in a hard-cardboard packaging including inside a charging cable and no other further addons/accessories.

Bass & Sub Bass

You see “clip-on” and “open-ear” as part of the description of the QCY Crossky C50 and would think that they are doomed in the bass department.

To our surprise, the Crossky C50 presented a fun and punchy mid-bass with even some physical rattling (minimal and subtle) been felt coming from the mid-bass and drivers movement/airflow.

On the other hand, sub-bass is not as powerful nor as capable. We would not say that this is an anemic earphone in the sub-bass region nor it shows an extreme roll-off as to show completely mute noted in the sub-bass ranges but it will not be able to cover many of them.

Mids & Vocals

The midrange of the QCY Crossky C50 showed a better control over body and congestion than other clip-on earphones.

The lower mid-range sounded warm and acceptably not laid-back with male vocals responding with a deep vocal feel.

Overall the lower mids responded with decent control of mid-bass bleed and lower congestion.

The upper mids and female vocals were well balanced as to provide a non-recessed personality yet neither getting shouty nor harsh.

A detail about the mids, the higher the volume setting, the better the congestion control performance

Highs & Treble

Highs of the QCY Crossky C50 could be defined as being sitting more on the bright than dark territory yet not providing much micro-detail and still having a darkish flavor regarding separation and sound stage.

Nonetheless, we were not expecting an audiophile-grade highs out of these clip-on earphones as they were not designed to be it.

At the same time, and more important to a vaster wide of consumers, the Crossky C50 do not tend to show piercing peaks and a mid-intensity of sibilance presence.

Comfort

In comparison to other clip-on earphones and even older generation from the Crossky series, the newest QCY Crossky C50 showed a much improved design, fit and comfort.

This allowed an easier positioning of the earphones, being less-prone to misalignment and a better controlled early-fatigue introduction; thus enabling longer usage sessions before feeling any discomfort.

In addition to this, the touch sensitive controls add a further layer of comfort and usability to the Crossky C50 over TWS using physical buttons.
