Songful F6 / Mosunx F6C – Review

Songful F6

? Although the Songful F6 / Mosunx F6C earphones might not be famous we are reviewing them as we have reviewed other Songful earphones in the past and usually they offer outstanding built, design and nice sound quality for an ultra low price.

In the past we reviewed the Songful T3 which was a fair contender and also the Songful F2 which was pretty surprising in almost every aspect, including sound quality and has entered our Best Bang for Buck Earphones Chart. The Songful F6 / Mosunx F6C are delightfully small with nicely built metal housings and metal designs like the cable bifurcation section and stereo plug. Despite the metal material, Songful was still able to maintain a super light overall weight of the earphones.

Cable is nicely designed with a a grey and gold pattern and it has a good amount of rubberized material to reduce tangling issues. The cable has an inline microphone and a 3-button control, which is pretty amazing that they included it at such a cheap selling price; with this control you can play/pause, skip tracks, answer/reject calls and control volume up and volume down.

You can buy the Songful F6 / Mosunx F6C in black with golden details (like the unit that we are reviewing), white with red details, white with golden details or black with silver details.

B

Bass & Sub Bass

The Songful F6 / Mosunx F6C have a bass response which is mostly mid-bass and not much sub-bass and results in a non highly impacting but still energetic overall bass. Despite the not so deep sub-bass, the bass coming from the Songful F6 can be enough for normal listening sessions that do not require extreme bass or specifically too much sub-bass.

Applying an EQ mid-bass gets increased slightly with most of the enhancement happening in sub-bass depth.

We run the Songful F6 through our extreme bass tests and they were able to handle a 28% of a Fiio E12‘s maximum power (high gain, bass boost on and custom basshead EQ applied) resulting in a lot more of punch and sub-bass but still no basshead impact was achieved. Expect a performance inline with a microdriver earphone.

M

Mids & Vocals

Mids of the Songful F6 / Mosunx F6C are distant and laid back with never harsh higher mids. Mids will probably lack some extra energy for most people, mainly on lower mids and lower vocals. An EQ removed a lot of the lower mids recession while not sounding boxy or harsh.

H

Highs & Treble

Highs of the Songful F6 have some brightness and not much detail or definition. There is no presence of sibilant or piercing highs, which are good news for treble sensitive people. With an EQ they clear up significantly with most of all much more detail and definition. Still there are no piercing highs but a bit of sibilance is introduced.

Sound Leak

The sound that leaks out of the Songful F6 / Mosunx F6C is controlled and not excessive, in normal situations they will absolutely blend with environmental noises; for library use you will have to limit your set volume in the low zones.

SI

Sound Isolation

The Songful F6 are able to partially isolate from surrounding noises at moderate volume levels, if higher volume is used their isolation capacity increases noticeably.

C

Comfort

The very small and light housings with the bullet-styled design makes the Songful F6 very comfortable and pain-free even after long listening sessions.

EQ

Response to Equalization

The response to equalization was very effective and noticeable improvement was achieved. Bass was able to bring up the sub-bass response that was lacking before; mids removed much of the lower recession while not getting harsh or boxy; highs gained significant detail with just a bit of sibilance enhanced.
