The SoundPEATS Air series is one of the most popular headphones models lineup from the brand; the SoundPEATS Air5 joins Air series as the newest model introducing new features and a whole new array of internal components.
The SoundPEATS Air5 are equipped with a very large 13mm dynamic driver per side (triple bio-diaphragm) and 6 microphones with AI noise cancelling for phone calls and also for active noise cancelling.
Furthermore, this TWS have a waterproof design and offer a modern Bluetooth v5.4 and Qualcomm chip capable of offering aptX codec support.
This new model conserves the touch sensitive controls seen on many other modern headphones from the brand while has, also, included full compatibility with the new PeatsAudio mobile app to access settings customizations like EQ, ANC and working mode.

Inside you will only get a charging cable as an extra accessory.

Bass & Sub Bass
The SoundPEATS Air5, seem to have inherited the well-tuned spirit of many other Air models.
This SoundPEATS TWS showed a punchy mid-bass with plenty power to fulfill the mid-bass requirement of any track and genre but without becoming boosted, overly loose nor out of control.
Sub-bass and very deep lower frequencies are equally reproduced by the SoundPEATS Air5 without ever showing empty notes on the sub-bass range.

Mids & Vocals
The midrange of the SoundPEATS Air5 has a nice balance without an excess of warmth nor being lifeless and laid back.
Lower mids and deep pitched vocals present a clean and clear sound that does not get drowned by any bloated bass bleeding.
The upper midrange offers a bit more forwardy tuning than the lower mids making notes in the higher mids and female vocals to cut through the sound and provide a crisp and alive personality.
Despite this, the Air5 is still able to keep hot harsh peaks under control.

Highs & Treble
The highs and treble of the SoundPEATS Air5 are bright and “open” with no muddy nor muffle feel over them.
In spite of being a brightish headphone, the Air5 will not reach the micro-detail resolving power of a high-grade monitoring headphone.
Unlike the midrange, the upper highs do show some fatiguing spikes that can translate in some piercing and sibilant highs.

Sound Leak
As with many other earbuds, semi-open and open-ear headphones, the leakage is stronger than what you can expect from an in-ear or over-ear headphone.
This means that these TWS might not be the smartest choice if you want fully private listening sessions or if you were looking for a companion to use in libraries.

Sound Isolation
Being a semi-open, earbud design by design is not meant to be an isolating type of headphone.
In fact, these type of headphones are built to meet the needs of users wanting some awareness of the surroundings and noises.
In this case, the Air5 are proficient at this, providing some good awareness and some partial isolation depending on the volume output level set.
Nonetheless, the brand has equipped Active Noise Cancelling on these earbuds (which is not a typical combination); when activating the ANC this SoundPEATS TWS shows a partially awareness feel but with a sort of “cleaner” sound where constant noises like hiss, wind or fans are greatly cancelled.

Comfort
The SoundPEATS Air5 has an earbud style form factor that is well-proven to match better the preference of users finding in-ear to intrusive and pain-inducing.
The smooth ends of the earpieces and no sharp edges contribute to a pleasant and pain-free use of the Air5 for hours.
On top of that, an IPX5 waterproof rating, particularly light weighted earpieces and the touch sensitive controls add up to a further layer of comfort and ease of use.
