SoundPeats Breezy, the newest open-ear headphone from SoundPEATS.

In the 10 years reviewing products, we have reviewed plenty of SoundPEATS headphones and smartwatches and we have seen many highly competitive products from the brand becoming excellent bang for buck options.

The SoundPEATS Breezy joins the catalog of open-ear series from the brand with some new features and advanced specs like 0.08s of latency, Bluetooth 5.4, waterproof design and mobile app compatibility for custom adjustments.

Inside, each earpiece sports a large 12mm dynamic driver with dual magnets, dual noise cancelling microphones for phone calls and an internal battery that can provide up to 10 hours of playback time on a single charge (totals 40 hours when using the charges offered by the case)

Accessories & Packaging

Most sports open-ear headphones that we have recently reviewed do not include any additional accessories; with the SoundPEATS Breezy, is the same case as you only get an USB-C charging cable.

Nonetheless, the packaging of the Breezy is substantially nice and more rugged than usual with a solid box and a side opening magnetic closing design.

Bass & Sub Bass

Open-ear headphones do not have the best acoustic design to shine in the bass department, yet some brands have been able to nail the bass in their open-ears nonetheless.

The SoundPEATS Breezy showed a punchy mid-bass that can cover any genre without falling short of fun.

On the other hand, the deeper lower frequencies on the sub-bass ranges are not able to respond with full non-muted notes.

Mids & Vocals

The lower midrange presents a warm and cozy feel with full male vocals but a bit of mid-bass bleed.

Female vocals and upper mids provide a good balance of crispness and smoothness, offering a pleasant sound that never gets harsh but neither a muffled sound.

Highs & Treble

Highs on the SoundPEATS Breezy exhibit sufficient brightness as to separate from an overly dark and busy sound but do not expect the detail and soundstage of an award winning audiophile headphone.

Similar to their midrange, the highs and treble has been tuned to offer a gentle sound that does not turn into a sibilant and piercing mess.

It is important to highlight that if you are experiencing very low sound quality on your SoundPEATS Breezy, you might be either misaligning the earpieces or, if using it with a computer and not a smartphone or tablet, your PC might have paired incorrectly or set the Breezy in “headset” mode.
If you are intending to use the SoundPEATS Breezy on a computer (for PC gaming for example) instead of a mobile device, beware of the aforementioned issue – this is not an issue exclusively on the Breezy but an odd thing that we have seen on a few other Bluetooth headphones that we have tested throughout all these years.

Comfort

The SoundPEATS Breezy are easily one of the most comfortable headphones and even open-ear headphones that we have tested so far.

SoundPEATS applied a smart design over these headphones by making the units remarkably light weighted and combining it with an unique adjustable earhooks design that can be adjusted in 8 steps for a smaller or larger final “arc/loop”

On top of that, these hooks are made of a flexible and skin-friendly material that never induces fatigue nor pain over the ears.

In addition to this, the fit and placement of the earpieces is highly secure and stable; which granted a safe, worry-free use on every high-intensity activity we tested.

The SoundPEATS Breezy have an excellent design and comfort level to be either used as a daily commute companion or for any sports activities – the touch sensitive backplates provide all the main controls for music and calls.

Response to EQ

The initial sound tuning of the SoundPEATS Breezy might be decent but as the unit is compatible with PEATSAudio mobile app, users can access some EQ presets and disable the dynamic EQ feature.

On top of that, the Breezy has 3 sound modes built-in that can be changed on-the-fly by 3x tapping the left earpiece; the modes offered are Normal, Gaming, Movie.
