Design

The Tronsmart T7 Lite shared the cylindrical form factor of the bigger Tronsmart T7 Classic but with some differences such as exposed dual woofers.

These woofers are placed on each lateral end of the speaker with a halo light around each other that provides fun and aesthetically pleasing RGB light effects that can be chosen through the mobile app from Tronsmart.

The speakers has a mesh fabric that covers most of the surface of the speaker, the quality and style of this fabric is the same that we have seen while reviewing the Tronsmart Bang Max, Tronsmart Bang SE, etc.

Also, similarly to most speakers from Tronsmart, the T7 Lite has a microSD card reader that allows the unit to be used as a standalone speaker playing music files directly from the MicroSD card without the need of pairing with any external device nor smartphone.

This Tronsmart speaker has one of the best buttons design that we have seen so far from the brand with independent dot-shaped buttons with a silicone-alike finish that make them easy to find and recognize by touch (if the brand. On top of that, 3 of the 6 buttons are backlit, to provide a quick overview of the status of the speaker, pairing and battery.

Right above the power button, there is a metal section that serves as a securing handle for the bundled lanyard.

Thanks to this lanyard system, a rubberized ring placed around the bottom of one of the passive woofers and 2 silicone feet on the main housing; the T7 Lite can be placed and used on 4 different positions:

• Hanging with the lanyard
• Sitting vertically
• Laying horizontally (2 positions available)

The Tronsmart T7 Lite can be defined as a small, portable speaker with a dimension of 217 x 104 x 82mm/8.54 x 4.09 x 3.23inch.

Construction Quality and Build

The Tronsmart T7 Lite is equipped inside with 2 dynamic drivers, 2 lateral passive bass woofers and 1 top passive woofer. The lateral woofers are protected by a protruding open “cage” made of plastic.

The fabric used for the main housing of the speakers has a scratch resistant build to better withstand everyday use and abuse.

To achieve a IPX7 waterproof rating, the speakers is also reinforced with a silicone gasket that protects the USB-C charging port and the MicroSD card reader.

The Tronsmart T7 Lite has a remarkably light weight barely reaching 1.04lbs, thus becoming easy to carry around with you.

Battery Life

The Tronsmart T7 Lite might be the more affordable, smaller sibling of the T7 (classic), yet this new model has doubled the battery life of its flagship brother; reaching now as much as 24 hours on a single charge

Sound

Despite the small size, the Tronsmart T7 Lite did not suffer from an anemic-bass, like similarly sized competitors.

As a matter of fact, the speaker presented a respectably full and punchy bass with good reach for the drivers size.

This Tronsmart model is able to provide fun and well-rounded out of the box without needing any additional EQ.

Overall, the Tronsmart T7 Lite provides a well-balanced sound with a touch of boosted bass punch to add a richer and more exciting sound, yet without becoming loose nor overstepping over the rest of the sound frequencies.

In fact, the Tronsmart T7 Lite exhibited better control of congestion and mids and vocals clarity than other premium-priced and larger BT speakers.

A smart detail are the 2 small rubberized feet placed over the mesh surface, which allow the speaker to be adjusted in 2 inclined positions to better aim the front of the speaker towards the user.

On top of that, the Tronsmart T7 Lite was able to spread its sound in a less directional way, allowing it to be used either vertically or horizontally without degrading its sound quality and becoming nearer to a 360 BT speaker, despite not being so.

It also worth mentioning that this might be a small speaker but the 24W of the T7 Lite achieved an real-life output with a surprisingly loud that could fill in a 20 square meter room with more dB volume that you would ever need for a small chilling reunion with friends.

If you happen to be an owner of other Tronsmart speakers, with the T7 Lite you can expect a much fuller and bass-powerful sound than the Tronsmart Trip but not as massive as with the Tronsmart Bang Max (obviously, seeing the drivers and acoustic case of each other)

Some specs that might interest you soundwise are a frequency response of 60Hz to 20000Hz, SBC audio codec compatibility and 90dB of max. output.

Response to Equalization

The T7 Lite includes a built-in re-tuning EQ system called SoundPulse that can be activated with the dedicated button on the speaker.

As seen on other Tronsmart speakers, this SoundPulse EQ provides a clear re-tuning effect with a wider soundstage and cleaner vocals.

In addition to this, users can access several other EQ presets and a custom one through the brand’s mobile app.
