DESIGN

The AULA SC800 has a nice, clean aesthetic design with an ergo-styled form factor but with rounder and smoother edges.

If you get the white version, the shell will be completely white without any patterns nor designs besides a silver color logo of the brand on the bottom curved end. The mouse has black details that cut the all-white design making it less boring looking than a completely white mouse; these black elements are the side buttons and the textured, rubberized part on the scroll wheel.

If you turn around the mouse you will find that the bottom shell is all-black, with even the switch, button and skates being black.

The mouse has a very strange design where you will not find any single LED light nor indicator – besides a tiny one on the bottom shell. Therefore, looking at the top shell mouse you do not have any way of understanding if the mouse is on, off, charging, battery status, connection mode, etc.

On the other hand, the 2.4G connection dongle has a backlit RGB logo with dedicated LED lights that will let you know further information like the DPI setting (color coded).

If you are a fast DPI changer on-the-fly you will be disappointed to know that the AULA does not have dedicated DPI buttons, so you will need to enter the software to change the setting each time or press and hold a combination of buttons in the mouse to change the DPI presets.

As with most modern gaming mice, the AULA is completely made of plastic. It might be an impression that we got, but we felt like the main top shell had better plastics than the base shell – or at least thicker.

Inside, the mouse has a top-tier PAW3395 sensor and sporting premium specs like 8K polling rate, 0.125ms latency, 50g acceleration and 650 IPS.

The brand declared a weight of 37 grams but our measurements, instead, showed a weight of 42,03 grams; and this is even before any of the skates were installed – still an ultra light-weighted mouse and even more considering that it has a battery inside.

The AULA SC800 comes equipped with Omron 50M blue dot micromotor micro switches which are well-capable switches for intense gaming sessions.

The side buttons have a noticeable longer pre-travel than the main clickers, yet it was not excessive and fell within the standards of many other gaming mice. On the other hand, the rear side-button was a little wonky at times.

The wheel has a TTC gold roller encoder which presented a stronger tactile feedback than other recent mice that we have reviewed, which we appreciated for a clearer confirmation of each registered notch.

The AULA SC800 is a wireless and wired mouse that can be used benefiting from included dongle for 2.4G wireless but it does not have an internal Bluetooth module for Bluetooth connectivity – the wired connection has a detachable USB port.

Through the 2.4G wireless connection, users can enjoy the blazing fast polling rate of 8000Hz and 1000Hz if wired.

A nice detail about the connectivity design is that the mouse has a simple on/off switch and a single button to select the 2.4G wireless mode, without the need of also setting a secondary switch for the connection mode – unlike nearly all other budget gaming mice and sharing a way faster and user-friendly style like on the Logitech MX Master 3S.

The only drawback is that the connection mode is indicated with a color that you will have to memorize and there are no independent and labeled LED indicators for each mode.

SOUND

The micro switches responded with tactile and audible click but with a different tone for each one, the left clicker has a lower pitch while the right one is a bit more higher-pitched.

On the other hand, the wheel showed some rattling noises that was more noticeable the faster it was rotated and the rear side button presented an odd sound that did not match the rest of the buttons and clickers.

PERFORMANCE

The sliding capabilities of the AULA SC800 were a bit less “slippery” than on other gaming mice reviewed so far, thus resulting in slightly less traveled distance with the same input force. On the other hand, the AULA showed way more traveled distance than some of the market leader such as the Logitech G502 series or its office “king” the Logitech MX Master 3S.

Accuracy, control and responsiveness was spot-on with this AULA mouse which becomes a smart-buy for hardcore gaming – even more when considering the combined specs like a crazy polling rate of 8000Hz.

The clickers never missed an input and were easily smashable like a maniac while we tested it on intense online gaming sessions.

As we mentioned before during the review, the side buttons do not perform as pristinely as the main clickers – mostly the “back” side button.

BATTERY

Most probably to reduce the overall weight of the mouse, the AULA SC800 has a 250mAh battery, which is exactly half of the battery capacity of the 2 Epomaker gaming mice that we have reviewed in the past.

Despite this, the runtime of a single charge will cover the usage of most users for a week without much hassle.
