Design
The Hychika Air Pump has a rectangular form factor with curved edges and a size that is more or less inline with a 500ml soda bottle.
The finish of the case make use of space gray colors combined with black accents like the main buttons and top/bottom plates.
On the front panel you can find 5 physical buttons to power, set and configure the air pump and on the upper section you will see a backlit display screen.
The display screen allows to set the air pump in car mode, moto/bicycle mode or sports ball modes and then apply the desired air pressure – you can also select the air pressure unit in either BAR, PSI, KG/cm2 or KPA.
On the top panel you will find a screw-in port for the air hose and a translucent cover. The transparent cover holds beneath several LED lights to be used either as torch with the white LEDs or can be set to turn on dedicated red LED lights as an emergency indicator.
A very smart design detail includes the immediate powering on of the emergency LED torch by simply pressing the top button and without needing to go through the main powering on of the tool.
To charge the air pump you need to open the rubberized gasket cover that you find on the bottom of the tool and access the USB-C connector; in the same place you will reveal a hidden compartment dedicated to store 3 of the 4 nozzle adapters. You will also see a 2-pin connector that is used for the bundled car cigarette charger, allowing the tool to be either charged or used through the power of your cars cigarette lighter plug.

Construction & Build
Unexpectedly by its MSRP and tendency from the brand to construct their power tools with plastics, the HYCHIKA Air Pump has a full metal case that makes it feel more premium than its price suggests.
The only elements that are not made of metal are the front and back plastic plates, the rubberized cover and the silicone alike buttons.
Internally, the HYCHIKA Air Pump is powered by a hefty 12V 6A rechargeable lithium battery that does not only feed the air compressor but can also act a battery pack to charge USB devices through the dedicated USB-A port hidden beneath the rubberized gasket on the bottom.
The internal compressor of the Hychika allows the tool to reach up to 10.3bar (150PSI).

Performance
Using the corresponding presets and adapters we proceeded to test the Hychika Air Pump as an inflator and compressor for common real-life scenarios.
First, we tried the Hychika to inflate sports balls that included a soccer ball, a basket ball, a volley ball; as expected the air pump inflated all 3 balls without any issue at all, in brief times and respecting the set pressures and stopping when reached – all of them were inflated with the same single battery charge and showed barely any drop in charge.
We then proceeded to inflate 4 tires of adult and children bicycles, once again the air pump did not struggle to inflate any of the 4 tires, completed the task in typical times.
As a third test, we inflated the tires of a 250kg scooter. Despite the small size of the air pump, the Hychika still did not slowed down and completed the job by inflating the 2 tires – one of which was nearly flat.
The inflation of the almost flat tire took some time but this is obviously what was expected from a non-industrial air compressor.
The final challenge for the Hychika was inflating the tires of a car and a larger 4×4 pickup.
When inflating the car’s tires, the Hychika was able to reach the set pressure and finish the task in an average and decent time but the inflator did show signs of struggling when attempting to inflate the large, big and heavy pickup and its tires.
Of course, expect around 1 to 2 PSI of difference between the set and real inflated pressure – mostly for more challenging air inflations like cars, pickups, SUV.

Value for Money
With its smaller size and portability friendly footprint, the Hychika Air Pump can be a wise purchase to equip your car with an emergency tire inflator.
