Design

The HYCHIKA Multifunctional Mattress Vacuum Cleaner has a brand new design and theme that we have not seen on the past from all the tools that we have reviewed from them.

This new aesthetic design makes use of a dark grey main body with mustardy-green accents around details such as the handle, power buttons, etc.

The brand has opted for simple and intuitive, single button that serves to turn on the vacuum and is placed a bit, colored button on the front section of the handle.

Also, to make the vacuum user-friendly, the dust cup does not only has a generous size (0.5 liters) with a dual chamber design but it is also removable with a single press of a button and can be easily cleaned thanks to the all plastic and disassemble-able construction.

Construction & Build

The whole external sections and shell of the vacuum are made of plastic, probably to cut the costs and the overall weight of the machine.

Despite the all-plastic construction, the overall feel of the vacuum does not give the impression of a cheapo disposable tool.

Also, the cable has reinforcements on both ends to prolong the durability and avoid getting the 4m long cable damaged.

Internally, the HYCHIKA Multifunctional Mattress Vacuum Cleaner holds what you should be more interested in and which is quite respectable for the asking price; with elements and specs that include a 400W motor capable of providing 16kPa of vacuum power, generate heat of up to 140°F (60°C) and 36000cpm. The heat output area is seen on the rear bottom of the device and can be identified by the open grid.

On top of that, the vacuum has a multi-LED light system that emits 273nm UV light to fully eliminate undesired particles/allergens.

Another detail is that the main roller is actually made of metal and the wipers of soft rubber.

Performance

The wide 24cm scrubber was a better time-saver than smaller vacuums, allowing us to perform tests of larger areas in less time and fully vacuuming mattresses and sofas in a fraction of the time.

The added features combining suction, scrubbing, ultrasound (running at 50Hz), heat and UV lights were a perfect combo to handle with efficiency all sort of cleaning exceeding what a simple vacuum cleaner would be able to do. In fact, all of these can “pull” mites and particles, pet’s hairs, get deeper beneath the first layers of your mattress and remove humidity.

A nice detail is that the UV lights will only turn on when the vacuum is fully rested over the mattress, carpet, etc. that you are cleaning – as a security measure that avoids the UV light to emit the 273nm wavelength light toward you or your pets.

The inclusion of a 2 piece filter with a metal grid filter and a sponge (adding up to a HEPA-grade), combined with the rubber gasket of the dust cup proved to offer efficient suction power with safety in mind and avoiding clogging.

In addition to this, the having a roller with a disassemble-friendly design for cleaning was a smart move from the brand to avoid making the maintenance cumbersome.

With a retail price that is significantly below most other competitors but holding similar and even better specs and features, the HYCHIKA Multifunctional Mattress Vacuum Cleaner offers a good bang for buck.
