D
Design
The KKTICK TANK T5 was designed aiming to an audience wanting a rugged and sports-efficient smartwatch.
Indeed, the TANK T5 has been well thought with an aggressive aesthetic and a confident size that has some seasoning of a G-SHOCK.
On the right edge of the watch you will find a physical button and a rotary encoder; sitting between them there is a metallic-blue metal piece with “GPS” engraved. This piece does not have any function besides being a nice aesthetically embellishing detail.
In fact, the main black theme of the shell combined with the metallic blue accents gives it a premium feel.
Since the TANK T5 has been designed with detachable wristbands, the unit does not come with the wristband already installed (included and bundled for free)
On the bottom of the shell, you will find the charging connectors and all the health sensors of the watch.

F
Features
The KKTICK TANK T5 is well equipped with most of the usual functions and app seen on other smartwatches from DT NO.1 but there are some key elements that set the TANK T5 apart.
First of all, the upper edge of the watch has a true dedicated flashlight with an internal and very bright multi-LED sitting beneath a semi-frosted diffusion panel.
Moreover, the KKTICK includes built-in GPS chip, thus benefiting from GPS functions and compass without the need of a paired mobile device. In addition to this, the GPS function is enriched by the offline maps feature of the KKTICK. Unfortunately, these offline maps and built-in GPS cannot be used for classic maps navigation with directions aid but it is mainly used for tracking and recording a sports session through a map and the corresponding distance. You can use these as a partial “classic” offline map, for reference of where you are located and lively update in which direction you are moving/facing.
Regarding this, the brand lists distance and trajectory/active route guidance as part of the functions of the offline maps and GPS but at the moment of our tests, these features were still not available – we guess they will be coming on future firmware upgrades.
Last but least, the TANK T5 also offers Bluetooth calling and other apps and features like:
○ Call notifications
○ SMS notifications
○ Altitude
○ Barometer
○ Upgraded Sports tracking apps (like number of swimming strokes)
○ Plenty of health sensors
○ Sleep tracking
○ Brief sport course videos
○ Calculator
○ Bluetooth audio
○ Video player
○ Standalone music playing
○ Decibel meter
And more

OC
Operation & Control
The unit is fully controlled through the touch sensitive screen with touch and gestures and combined with both the physical buttons and encoder.
The encoder has also a button-press function which add up to the functionality of the physical controls to provide a friendly environment to navigate, enter, back, shortcuts, etc.
As seen on other smartwatches, the rotary encoder offers tactile feedback through the built-in rumble motors.

CB
Construction & Build
The KKTICK TANK T5 model is not only named “TANK” it is actually built as hefty as one, which is no surprise as the brand intends to provide their users a highly durable and solid smartwatch companion.
The TANK T5 is heavier and bigger than many Apple watch alike competitors (even more if you have the TANK T5 with the metal strap) but this added weight also gives it a feeling of long-lasting construction.
In fact, the rugged construction is not only a sensation but it is also accompanied with design and features that empower this, like a protruding surrounding bezel over the corning gorilla glass display and a 3 ATM plus IP 69K waterproof rating for safe submersion.
Moreover, the KKTICK TANK T5 has passed 15 military grade certification standards and the brand ensures of having being thoroughly put under stress the watch with tests that include uncommon ones like solar radiation, mold, salt spray, acid sweat, paint adhesion and more.
Internally, the watch is powered by a beefy 860mAh battery. Throughout our tests, the watch showed a battery runtime of about 15 days of average usage.

S
Screen
The TANK T5 holds a large 1.43″ rounded screen with a pixel density of 461 PPI.
This screen is made of the better AMOLED display type which ensured deep black, contrasty and saturated colors and reaches a high brightness of 1000 nits.
These qualities result in excellent viewability with sharp fonts and images.

PER
Performance
Thanks to more robust sports apps and the incorporation of health sensors, GPS and maps, the tracking, recording and calculations for sports activities is substantially more rich-featured and possibly more accurate too.
The internal memory of 4GB was a nice detail to allow standalone operation and use of features like music playback, video playback photos and even for the offline maps functions.
Daily use of the watch was seamless and responsive with an UI that did not suffer from overly noticeable lag and an intuitive and vast amount of apps to choose from.
The most enjoyment that we got out of the TANK T5 was when testing it and using for sports activities and mostly for more extreme sports or outdoor nature hikes and training thanks to the rugged build, durable battery, tracking and built-in GPS – we did like a lot the real flashlight, even for normal everyday use.
Some details to point about the maps; the offline maps of your region might not come pre-installed, in order to get your maps you need to go to a webpage informed by WearPro app, download the maps that you want manually and then transfer them manually through an USB connection with watch. Some maps are quite heavy, so you might not be able to fit too many in the phone; in fact USA maps are 12GB (4.8GB before decompression) which will not fit in the 4GB of internal memory of the watch if you want to place all USA maps inside
