ACCESSORIES & PACKAGING
The CIDOO ABM066 comes inside a fairly standard packaging that includes inside:
• Braided USB-C cable
• Keycap/keyswitch puller
The CIDOO ABM066 has a split Alice layout with 67 keys and a knob.
Alice keyboards can look intimidating to people entering the world of higher-quality mechanical keyboards but the ergonomic advantage that they promise over standard keyboards is a true fact that applies to real world use and not a marketing fuzz.
The CIDOO ABM066 uses a 3-colored design with white, pastel blue and red – with also some small accents in yellow and black.
On the bottom left you will see a black dot that looks like a button but it is not, this is just an embellishing detail that has a RGB ring light around.
The keyboard has a smart use of the space and form factor, making efficient use of the case area, thus resulting in a smaller size than other 67 keys Alice keyboards.
Overall, the design makes it look aesthetically pleasing yet original and fun.
The CIDOO ABM066 is available only in one color case option and keycaps design – unless you get it in its barebones DIY kit format.
The CIDOO ABM066 has a rectangular TFT LCD display screen with a vertical orientation, placed on the right section of the case, above the right-arrow key and below the knob.
The screen has a multi-color display that supports some info such as clock, connection status/mode, battery status and date – also images or animated GIFs can be uploaded to the screen.
On the other hand, editing the display or uploading GIFs is not integrated on any full-fledged software as this is a VIA/QMK keyboard – to edit the display you have to use a dedicated software provided by CIDOO.
A couple of weaker aspects of this display is the loss of brightness and contrast at an angle and despite having giant fonts for the hour and minutes of the clock, the rest of the status info of the display is excessively small (like the mode info and battery icon)
CONSTRUCTION & BUILD
Internally the CIDOO ABM066 packs high-quality assembly components and dampening layers that include a flex-cut polycarbonate plate, foam gaskets.
The case of the CIDOO ABM066 is made of ABS plastic but with a generous amount of material that results in a light but well-constructed feel.
The bottom case has big rubberized feet (probably silicone) and in particular 2 huge square rubberized feet that go around the adjustable feet section – this keyboard is outstanding regarding the grippiness and zero sliding that it can provide.
All pieces and sections of the keyboard are well put together with no rattling keys and no wobbly sections. Moreover, the knob is entirely made of metal and the adjustable feet and rugged and fold/extend securely.
The keycaps of the CIDOO ABM066 are made of thick PBT with dye-sub printings; granting oil-resistance and fadeless quality.
The keycaps have one of the best textured:smooth ratio that we have felt so far with a buttery smooth feel yet with a micro-gritty texture that provide grip and a premium feel.
If you prefer clear legends/fonts over unique design, the fun, custom design of the keycaps of the CIDOO ABM066 might confuse you.
Yet, in comparison to other more radically design-oriented keycaps, these one on the CIDOO keyboard are fairly clear to understand and recognize while, also, the huge dimension of the fonts ease up the effort on this matter.
On the top upper edge you find the media knob (right above the display), this knob is smaller than most other knobs that we have seen in all reviewed keyboards so far but the full-metal construction and tactile feedback of the rotational movement provide a functional a pleasant experience.
The CIDOO ABM066 comes pre-assembled with CIDOO Silent Blue switches – as the name says these are silent switches do not get confused by the “Blue” in the naming, these are not clicky switches.
The ABMO066 can only be purchased with the silent switches, there are no linear, clicky nor tactile switches variants of the CIDOO ABM066.
The switches presented a smooth, scratchless travel with a soft bottoming and a nearly cushiony and springy feel while typing.
As a matter of fact this does not comes as a surprise as this is switches have a premium design with a dual springs, nylon housing and coming pre-lubed from factory.

The keyboard can be connected and used either wirelessly or wired. The USB-C wired connection is centered on the rear section of the case while the power and mode switches are right next to the USB-C connector with clearing writings.
Wirelessly, the ABM066 can connect through Bluetooth 5.0 or using 2.4G wireless tech with the included dongle.
CUSTOMIZATION & REPROGRAMMING
The CIDO ABM066 has a hot-swappable board compatible with 3-pin and 5-pin mechanical switches, therefore if at any given point a switch starts failing or if you want to change the silent switches for a different type, you will be able to just pull them out (with a puller) and replace them with no soldering involved.
This CIDOO keyboard is VIA-programmable so you can benefit from the freedom and powerful VIA programming through an installed VIA software or using VIA through a web browser – if you are not sure how VIA works, you will need to download a JSON file for the 2.4G wireless mode and another JSON for the wired mode and load it in VIA.
Software customization has all the same features as typical QMK/VIA keyboard with full per-key reprogramming and macros and no need to keep VIA running on the background to preserve the custom settings.
PERFORMANCE & USE
The ergonomic-optimized Alice layout and the softer typing sensation of the nice cushiony switches provide a pleasant and less-aggressive typing feedback with also lower fatigue.
For typers that want to be stealthy or in libraries, the CIDOO ABM066 can be a perfect match.
Thanks to the more natural hand placement of the Alice format, this CIDOO keyboard can be a good ally to reduce wrist and finger strain for long lasting gaming sessions.
Also the silent but quality switches ensure a safe experience for a keyboard to game at night time without disturbing nearby people.
For casual productivity, the quality components of the CIDOO ABM066 can make it a good alternative to complement a main larger keyboard when wanting to take a rest of a classic keyboard format.
Due to the lack of the F number row, numpad and the special legends, the CIDOO ABM066 might be less-friendly as a working/office keyboard.
Yet if you do not care by the legends, intend to replace them or write by muscle memory without looking at the keyboard, this CIDOO keyboard can be a good office keyboard due to the ergonomic design, wired/wireless connection and the smaller form factor.
If you like Alice keyboards and tend to match mechanical keyboards with your tablet or phone, the CIDOO ABM066 can be a smarter option than most other similar competitors thanks to the displays screen, knob and the smaller size.
The CIDOO ABM066 has south-facing LED lights and non-shine through keycaps.
The larger keycaps allow less space closing the gap between them, thus also generating a stronger blockage of the light bleeding. This detail could give the backlighting of the ABM066 less of a wow-factor.
On the other hand, the brightness level reached is higher than some competitors and the ring “halo” light detail on the lower left section is a nice lighting detail.
As we mentioned, the CIDOO ABM006 is equipped with silent linear switches from CIDOO, as with any silent switch, the nature of the design and sound profile is intended to be silent and not to exhibit sound characteristics of a typical mechanical keyboard. This means that you should not expect to hear characteristics like thock, clack nor pops – instead you will get something similar to what we seen on the EPOMAKER RT100.
In fact, the CIDOO ABM066 and its CIDOO Silent Blue switches are truly silent; if you like silent switches, the ABMO066 will certainly not disappoint.
The pre-assembled and pre-lubed stabilizers of the keyboard have been carefully taken care of as they performed flawlessly with zero rattling and absolutely no loud audible feedback – not even while bottoming not bouncing back.
An internal rechargeable battery with a capacity 3000mAh powers the CIDOO ABM066; in comparison with other backlit keyboard with a display screen, the battery is a bit smaller.
If you want to prioritize a longer runtime per charge you might find yourself better setting shorter timeout/sleep times, turn off backlighting and use power-efficient wireless modes.
