Design
The HYCHIKA 18V Cordless Wet Dry Vacuum Cleaner has a rectangular and short form factor that resembles a mid-sized tool box.
The vac has been well-designed with many detailed elements that improve the usability, storage and transport of the device.
Some of these include a vacuum slot for the main hose that sits and lock in place when not using it, a detachable vac hose with independent vac and blowing ports, a hidden accessory storage section to hold 1 nozzle (placed on the bottom right section of the lower case), a carrying handle and 4 detachable wheels. On the top of the device you will also see a frosted cover that can be opened to access the battery compartment and the red power switch – this cover is also waterproof to protect the battery from any liquids that could get into the power/battery connection.
The main body of the vacuum is made of 2 sections an upper case (green colored) where the motor, battery, ports and filtering system are placed and a bottom case part (black) that works as the main capacity tank.
These 2 case sections are kept together by 2 large clips; one is placed on the front of the vac and the other one on the back. This clip system provides a fast and easy way to open the vac whenever is needed to empty out the vac bag, remove/clean/replace the HEPA filter or position the sponge addons for wet vacuuming.
Despite the compact size, the HYCHIKA 18V Cordless Wet Dry Vacuum Cleaner has a respectable capacity of 4 gallons / 15 liters which is not that far from the flagship wired vac from HYCHIKA that we have reviewed, yet being around half as big.

Construction & Build
The HYCHIKA Vac is mainly build in plastic, yet conserving the same rugged plastics quality seen on all other power tools from the brand that we have reviewed – this means that it is a light but non-flimsy tool that is expected to last long time without breaking.
The clip system and carry handle are also made of plastic but use a thick amount of plastic material, thus being well put together and ensuring a tight air-closing with the clips and a safe transportability with its carry handle.
The build of the main vac hose/tube is remarkably good with a plastic but sturdy feel that feels durable over normal abuse. On top of that, the length of the hose can be contracted and extended when needed; the length that you see on the first photo of our review is the contracted shorter length and can extend to more than double of it initial dimension.
In fact, this main tube/hose of the vac is better constructed than the one of the wired, bigger sibling.
HYCHIKA has incorporated an user-detachable HEPA filtering system to protect its clients while keeping the filtering system user-serviceable in case that the HEPA filter needs to be cleaner or replaced after reaching its end of life.

Ergonomics
A large folding handle is placed on the top section of the vacuum, allowing it to be portable and even hold it with one hand while vacuuming with the other – a convenient way to use the HYCHIKA vac while cleaning stairs, your car, boat, etc.
Do take into consideration, though, that this vac does not include an extension modular tube accessory kit nor a standard wide vac nozzle but you can plug the accessories of the wired vac from HYCHIKA if you want to as they are fully compatible without any DIY adaptation.

Manageability
The vacuum was easy to handle and follow all movements throughout the rooms without showing the need to pulling hard; in fact, the wheels always responded fluidly and smoothly.
The light weight and smaller dimension of the vac (and of course, the wireless design) made the device a great vac to grab and get the job done with less planning and preparation.
Also, the included brushes and nozzles made easier to complete different vacuuming scenarios – like the swiveling brush addon.

Performance
Cleaning part of the offices and running for around 120 square meters, the HYCHIKA Vacuum held up well the task dropping only 1 out of the 3 battery charge indicators on the battery pack.
In comparison to the wired HYCHIKA Vacuum that we reviewed some time ago, this wireless portable vacuum model was way more quiet and extremely more user-friendly to drag around rooms without having to keep the power cable under control to avoid any problems.
While testing the HYCHIKA 18V Cordless Wet Dry Vacuum Cleaner we kept the expectations within a realistic estimated result for a battery powered vacuum and only comparing it with the wired Hychika vacuum to evaluate the real-life differences on daily typical use.
Of course, there is no way possible that a 18V battery-powered vac can offer the same power of a hefty 110V/220V 1200W motor (wired model offered 17kPA) or an industrial vac. Nonetheless, the 10kPA of the HYCHIKA 18V Cordless Wet Dry Vacuum Cleaner showed more than sufficient power for normal everyday cleaning where you are cleaning dust, crumbs, hair, liquids and typical house/car cleaning tasks – you could even use it to blow leaves or the hair of your pet.
We also found that the HYCHIKA 18V Cordless Wet Dry Vacuum Cleaner was a nice companion as a home wood workshop vac to clean up the working space, saw dust and to pair it with power tools such as circular saws, miter saws and other power tools that can benefit from a pluggable vac – even more considering the health-safety design with its HEPA filtering system.
Worth noting that the blowing function was another handy ally for pushing saw dust away from the working space.
The vacuum does not have an auto-power sync system with power tools but you can manually turn it on/off when starting/ending your power tool tasks. Also, the connecting tubes are compatible with all vac connectors of HYCHIKA power tools.
It is fair to note that the device will perform as expected if you are not needing a vac air flow and suction power to pick up heavier objects such as stones, mid-sized glass pieces or larger/heavier food residues.
After turning the power switch on, the motor started vacuuming immediately but needed around 1.5 seconds to reach its maximum revs and max air flow power.
