The JBL EVEREST 100 belongs to the EVEREST series of wireless headphones from JBL like the JBL EVEREST 710, JBL EVEREST 310 and JBL EVEREST ELITE 750NC.

The JBL EVEREST 100 features a 5.8mm dynamic driver, special eartips and Bluetooth connectivity.

The housings of the JBL EVEREST 100 have a very rounded form and smooth edges and are built in plastic. There is an inline remote / mic with 4 buttons and dedicated volume buttons.

Operation & Control

The microphone/control of the JBL EVEREST 100 allows you to do the following:

Middle Button:

• A 5 second press and hold: Power On
• A single press: Play, Pause music or Answer calls
• 4 second press and hold while turned ON: Power off
• Double click: Next song
• Triple click: Previous song

Volume UP Button:

• A single press: Volume up by 1 level

Volume Down Button:

• A single press: Volume down by 1 level

Lateral button:

This 4th button is found in the edge of the mic/remote, is grey colored and is used to set the headphone in pairing mode.

LED Status Light: A led light is very well hidden in the back of the remote and will indicate the status of the headphones. Blink Blue= ON, Red, while charging=Charging.

Bass & Sub Bass

The JBL EVEREST 100 bass provides good mid-bass punch and not much sub-bass. Their looser and not so sealing fit does not help to their sub-bass response. Overall they do not feel anemic or thin at all but it is fair to be aware of the lack of sub-bass if this is what you were expecting. Apart from that, their bass gives warmth and some punch.

Applying an EQ, mid-bass becomes much punchier and sub-bass gets stronger reaching a much more improved depth.

Mids & Vocals

The JBL EVEREST 100 mids have clear enough lower vocals but can sound somewhat distant, mid-bass bleed is almost absent and not invasive. Higher mids are crisp but not forward nor overdone; usually there are no harsh peaks.

With an EQ there is a groundbreaking change, with highly crispier upper mids and much more alive lower vocals.

Highs & Treble

The JBL EVEREST 100 highs are sufficiently bright and resolve a good amount of detail (for normal listening sessions). Piercing highs are not present and sibilance is merely perceivable when extreme peaks arise.

An EQ makes their highs much more detailed and brighter with no piercing highs but stronger sibilance.

Sound Leak

The sound that leaks out of the JBL EVEREST 100 is very low and will not be hearable by nearby people – even less while doing sport activities.

Sound Isolation

Noise isolation is lower than many average earphones, this is a feature that is very appreciated when intended to be used while running, cycling or any activity that requires some sort of awareness of your surroundings.

For all our reviews we have standardized the “Sound Isolation” scores, where a higher score represents a stronger isolation and a lower score a lower isolation. Said so, their lower than average score below corresponds to their less isolating level.

Comfort

The housing’s super light weight, rounded corners and eartips with wings makes the JBL EVEREST 100 an almost perfect companion to be worn for hours with no pain or discomfort. Their fit is also very secure and snug thanks to the rubberized earwings.

Response to Equalization

The response to EQ of the JBL EVEREST 100 was very efficient with much punchier and deeper bass, substantially clearer vocals and radically brighter and more detailed highs.
