Design

The KKTICK TANK T6 is built for users who want a smartwatch that can handle tough conditions while still delivering strong sports performance. Its design embraces a bold, rugged style, with a chunky silhouette. Yet, the T6 is substantially slimmer than the previous T5 model.

The watch has a rounded design and avoids getting into the typical Apple watch-inspired form factor.

Aesthetically, the brand opted for a space gray shell and a top bezel that is mid-thin with black color and marks for 01 up to 24 hours – a full black-colored model is also available to buy.

Flip the watch over and you’ll find the charging contacts and the full array of built‑in health sensors neatly integrated into the underside of the casing. Despite this, the brand has “downgraded” the charging design using a 4-pin magnetic cable like on many older DT NO1 watches and no longer having the better dock charger.

Features

Added to the new T6 models, there is one innovative new feature that includes a function to live view your phone’s camera and the ability to press the shutter as well; quite nice for a budget watch.

We were glad to find out that the brand has brought back some functions that were nice on older models, like the double tap to turn on the display and palm to turn it off.

On top of that, you can now benefit from added features like syncing to Strava and many of the handy features of the previous model; for example:

Operation & Control

The new T6 has by far the best wheel/encoder of all the budget watches that we have reviewed. It has no wobbling at all, no funky springy feel and it now offers a very tactile and even clicky feedback per notch.

The full control of the watch is taken care through the aforementioned wheel, the touch sensitive screen and a second physical button – this 2nd button cannot be reprogrammed.

Construction & Build

The watch is fully made of hefty metal, you will not feel any cheap plastics nor pieces falling apart. Moreover, the T6 has been carefully crafted ensuring an IP68 waterproof rating, 3 ATM waterproof allowing depth of up to 30 meters, corning CG3 glass and an astounding 810H military grade certified impact resistance.

Internally, the watch carries some remarkable components like:

An element that has seen a clear upgrade from older watches, is also the quality of the wrist straps that come bundled for free. Both of them have a nice durable feel and a very secure fit – they are replaceable.

Unlike the older sibling, the T6 has a slightly smaller but still generous internal battery with a capacity of 500mAh and rated for several days of continuous use.

Screen

The KKTICK TANK T6 has a very nice AMOLED display that boasts a resolution of 460×460 in a size of 1.43″.

Being thought as an outdoors sports watch, the screen can reach a respectable brightness of 1000 nits, easing up the visibility while being outside and with stronger light.

As with the previous model, the display shows beautiful saturation, colors, sharpness and contrast with fonts, images and icons being perfectly defined.

Also, the screen has no issues with steep angles of view and does not loose contrast nor definition.

Out of the box you get plenty of pre-installed dials to choose from and a built-in market to download even more. If you want still more, you can use the smartphone app to access the full dials market; some are free to download and others require to be bought.

Performance

We were surprised to find advanced tracking features like the trackback navigation features combined with the offline maps; some details that can be found on much more expensive watches. +-

This alone is a superb function that the KKTICK can offer for outdoor explorers adding not only a functional ally to your treks but also a very important safety feature that will allow you to go back to your original starting point and/or have access to a detailed tracing of all your recorded path in case that you get lost.

Unfortunately, the watch no longer includes a physical flashlight, like the T5 model – a detail that we really liked on the older sibling.

In spite of this feature removal, the KKTICK T6 was a joy to use with a snappy UI, customizable style and aesthetics and no signs of a laggy or weak OS. In fact, the watch was able to handle all the included apps and functions without slowing down at any given moment during the tests.

If you are concerned about the notifications, the T6 showed instantly all the incoming SMS, calls and apps notifications; never missing a single one.

We were surprised that the brand leveled-up the bundled accessories and included a pair of fully functional TWS earbuds but makes a lot of sense to get a full combo ready to use all the standalone features like Bluetooth audio, Bluetooth calls, TWS audio – which you benefit from the internal disk (4GB) that you can fill up with your music, photos, videos and offline maps.
