RHA MA750 – Review

RHA MA750

RHA MA750

| 560.1 Dynamic Driver |

? RHA MA750, one of the most popular models from RHA.

The RHA MA750 features handmade drivers (specifically the model 560.1) and RHA’s Signature Aerophonic housing design.

The RHA MA750 belongs to the MA series, along the:

The housings of the RHA MA750 are fully constructed in stainless steel, as well as every detail through out the cable. The stainless steel used for it’s construction is the type 303, which is an alloy well-known for having excellent properties of toughness, durability, corrosion resistance.

This build gives the RHA MA750 a super heavy duty and bomb-proof construction with one of the most solid feel out there (in comparison with other earphones of popular brand, with similar price)

The remote/mic shares the same overall construction with stainless steel main construction and rubberized front buttons – the inline remote holds 3-buttons with dedicated volume buttons.

The cable of the RHA MA750 is thick, very rubberized and provides a solid build inline with the rest of the unit.

The RHA MA750 can be found in 3 different flavors:

  • RHA MA750 – universal compatibility, without an inline mic/remote
  • RHA MA750i – with an Apple compatible remote and mic
  • RHA MA750 wireless

To be more precise, the model that we are actually reviewing is the RHA MA750i.

A

Accessories & Packaging

The RHA MA750 unboxing results in 10 pair of eartips (2 of them are double flange tips and other 2 are foam tips), a metal plate for carrying and organizing the eartips and a nice carrying case.

The packaging is inline with the industrial aesthetics of the unit, making the product look well-presented.

B

Bass & Sub Bass

The RHA MA750 offer good mid-bass with sufficient punch and energy to warm up and empower their sound but without getting boomy nor invasive.

Sub-bass provides some depth but, consider that this is not a very deep sounding earphone – tending to a conservative bass-style on the sub-bass region as there is a cut-off on the very lower end of their sub-bass but it is just the right amount to make them sound clean and reduce the possibility of sub-bass taking too much over the sound signature.

Bass is beautifully gentle but not anemic, people looking for a more refined and less invasive bass or whom are tired of over boosted and boomy bass earphones will fall in love with the RHA MA750.

An EQ can provide very noticeable additional depth but not a lot of extra punch.

Putting the RHA MA750 through our extreme basshead tests; the unit managed to take up to 50% of a FiiO A5 maximum output power. The results showed a massive deepening of their sub-bass and noticeably punchier response, yet do not expect any significant basshead rumble nor impact out this model and nowhere near the Sony MDR7550, Sony MDR-EX650, Pioneer SE-CX8, Pioneer SE-CX9.

Mids & Vocals

The RHA MA750 midrange has very good crispness, clear higher mids and clean lower vocals. Lower mids might exhibit a slight amount of laid back tuning over their lower vocals – a frequent characteristic with some models with a flattish mids response.

Overall, their upper highs do not become fatiguing nor harsh, despite being more emphasized than their lower midrange.

With an EQ, every trace of their laid back lower vocals is removed, without getting cold nor thin but sounding clearer. Higher mids can be pushed for additional crispness with excellent response and, overall, without the introduction of boxy nor tinny sound.

Highs & Treble

The RHA MA750 have very bright highs that are able to resolve a fairly vast amount of detail.

We could define them as remarkably balanced, not overdone nor forward.

Annoying spikes such as piercing peaks are not frequent while some sibilance is present on tracks with a strong tendency to show these spikes.

An EQ adds an insane amount of detail, additional brightness and a much more airy and open sound but users will have to pay the price with more frequent sibilance.

Comfort

The RHA MA750 has an outstanding design and form factor that translates into a wonderfully comfortable fit that can ensure hours of listening time without a single issue.

Moreover, the relatively thin profile of the earpieces allow them to fit mostly flush with the ears, allowing them to be used under helmets.
