Sennheiser CX 1.00
| Dynamic Driver |
? Sennheiser CX 1.00, one of the most affordable in-ear headphones from Sennheiser.
The Sennheiser CX 1.00 features a single dynamic driver per earpiece and a tiny footprint.
In fact, the housings are as big as the eartips, this is something that can be also seen on other tiny earphones such as the JBL C100si, JBL T110, Denon AH-C50MA and also other models from Sennheiser, such as the:
- Sennheiser CX 100
- Sennheiser CX 300 II
- Sennheiser MM 30G / Sennheiser MM 30i
- Sennheiser CX 275s
- Sennheiser IE 4
- Sennheiser CX 200 Street II
The cable of the Sennheiser CX 1.00 is rounded and rubberized, with a thin girth and an overall fragile feel.
The 3.5mm plug is L-shaped and has the same rubberized finish as the cable itself – the cable bifurcation is also rubberized.

Accessories & Packaging
The Sennheiser CX 1.00 unboxing results in 4 pair of eartips and not much else.
The packaging is a simple small box with a typical design of Sennheiser headphones with a mainly black color and blue accents.

B
Bass & Sub Bass
The Sennheiser CX 1.00 has balanced bass that is non-invasive at all and tending to a conservative and clean sound.
Yet, they offer sufficient punch and mid-bass to cover most non deep bass-demanding genres.
Usually brands tune their models sitting in their entry level and affordable range with a very bassy and almost bass-only sound as this is type of sound that general consumers usually enjoy.
The Sennheiser CX 1.00, despite sitting as an ultra-affordable model from the brand, offers a refined tuning on their lower end with no boosted response nor bloated bass.
An EQ provides a bit of extra punch while depth can boosted but do not expect them to become a bassy headphone
Through out our extreme basshead tests, the Sennheiser CX 1.00 handled 25% of a FiiO A5 maximum power (set to high gain, bass boost on and custom basshead EQ applied).
The results showed, mild addition of mid-bass and sub-bass and, definitively, no basshead rumble nor impact.

M
Mids & Vocals
The Sennheiser CX 1.00 mids exhibit no mid-bass bleed at all, male vocals are clean and clear with a relaxed and laid-back style.
Higher mids are neither forward nor overly recessed, offering a satisfactory balance sitting in between both extremes and never falling into harshness.
Overall, their midrange is remarkably clean but not dull sounding that results in an extremely pleasing sound to listen.
Their mids price-quality relation offers a tuning style comparable to some more “refined” headphones, which is highly unexpected from such an affordably-priced model.
Sincerely, Sennheiser CX 1.00 do not need any EQ intervention but, if wanted, they can be fine-tuned with good results.

H
Highs & Treble
The Sennheiser CX 1.00 highs are bright and resolve a competent amount of detail.
Similar to their mids, their highs offer a beautifully balanced tuning that is neither recessed nor forward, resulting in a superb and pleasant sound.
Moreover, treble-sensitive users will be glad to know that sibilance and piercing highs are not an issue with them – at all.
An EQ provides a crazy amount of added detail, brightness is greatly augmented and an overall opening up of their highs happens, still not introducing sibilance nor piercing highs.
