DESIGN

The Epomaker TH108 is a 108 key mechanical keyboard with a 100% full-size layout; this means that the keyboard includes all the keys of a standard keebs and a fully-fledged dedicated numpad.

At first sight, the Epomaker TH108 might look like a fully white keyboard but the case actually has some embellishing details such as a pastel blue back plate and one side strip RGB LED light per side.

This RGB strip light is placed on the bottom of each edge, producing a lighting effect that gives a pop RGB to your desk without spreading upper to the sides.

Regarding other LED lights, the board holds south-facing RGB LEDs (programmable) and the upper left of the case holds 4 dedicated status light indicators for Caps lock, Num lock, battery status and Scroll lock.

On the bottom you will find 2-step adjustable kickstands and a hidden compartment for the wireless dongle under one of the kickstands.

You can choose the Epomaker TH108 in a light white and blue color like ours or in a mainly black colored variant.

CONSTRUCTION & BUILD

The Epomaker TH108 has a cade made entirely of plastic and this might be a fact that can cause fear of cheap and flimsy feel; instead, the TH108 feels way more rugged and better built than typical plastic keyboards and than most mainstream and popular plastic keyboards.

Part of the more solid feel corresponds to the use of better plastics like ABS and which the brand expressly highlights to be poured with a thick amount of it.

Inside the case, the TH108 sports a gasket-mount design with 5 layers of sound dampening and sound enhancing material.

The board of the keyboard is hot swappable and compatible with 3-pin / 5-pin mechanical switches allowing the replacement on-the-fly without any soldering.

KEYCAPS

The keycaps of the Epomaker TH108 have Cherry profile and constructed with PBT and double-shot processing.

The body of the keys are slightly textured, giving a better grippy performance but not feeling overly “sandy”

Aesthetically, the keycaps have a light pastel color gamut with a coherent look but we found that the main white keycaps had blue fonts that might be a bit too light and can result in some lack of contrast.

As you might have noticed, this keyboard does not have a knob but the brand has still well thought a functional replacement by making the 4 keys above the numpad, pre-programmed and labeled for volume up, volume down, mute and calculator shortcut.

The keyboard is offered with 2 different switches options, both of linear type but very different from each other. The switches available are:

• Epomaker Creamy Jade
• Epomaker Sea Salt
A less common detail about these switches is that the Sea Salt are of silent type, which is not easy to find as a switch pre-assembled on most keyboards.

The specific model that we are reviewing came with Epomaker Creamy Jade but in the past we have reviewed also the Sea Salt Silent switches and are unique.

The Creamy Jade switches presented a smooth and scratchless performance with a balanced feel thanks to a heavier force but fast personality due to its short pre-travel.

We have reviewed many other switches with similar specs and most of them are part of our favorites due to the ample variety of tasks that they can cover with high performance while also reducing typing errors.

As most modern keyboards from Epomaker, the TH108 can be used wired and wirelessly with 3 different connectivity options:

• Detachable wired USB-C
• Bluetooth – with 3 connection banks
• 2.4G wireless with the included dongle

When used wired, the keyboard can reach a remarkable low latency of barely 2ms, while 1000Hz of polling rate are offered in wired and 2.4G wireless modes.

Gamers will also be happy to know that the keyboard support N-key roll-over and anti-ghosting.

SOUND

It is quite impressive how the brand has achieved a premium deep thock out of the box on the Epomaker TH108; without nothing to envy top-tier metal keyboards with price tags 3 times higher than the TH108.

As surprising as the sound profile was the performance of the stabilizers which came perfectly pre-lubed from factory showing total absence of rattling noises – also the keyboard never showed pinging, resonance nor any type of hollow sounds.
