A

ACCESSORIES & PACKAGING
gramophone-256604/5

The Mechlands Blade75 comes in a much better and sturdier packaging than most keyboards on the market.

With the keyboard you will also get:

• 3x extra switches
• Dust cover
• Keycap/switch puller
• USB-C cable

D

DESIGN
gramophone-256605/5

The Mechlands Blade75 is a 75% mechanical keyboard with 81 keys and knob.

The 75% layout allows it to offer an useful but relatively compact footprint without sacrificing versatility as a main keyboard.

The case of the variant that we are reviewing has a pastel light blue color that matches perfectly the keycaps set that combines blue, white and purple colors.

On the bottom case section you will find a large silver plate with a mirror effect and the branding of the company.

On the bottom you will also find 4 silicone dot feet that keep the keyboard in place on bare desktops – if you use a fabric deskmat, it could be less grippy.

Overall, the Mechlands Blade75 looks simply gorgeous, fresh and premium at the same time and being enlightened as soon as you turn on the south-facing RGB LEDs.

The Mechlands Blade75 is available in 2 different colors:

• Mechlands Blade75 black green
• Mechlands Blade75 blue – model that we are reviewing

CONSTRUCTION & BUILD
gramophone-256605/5

A detail that we might not have highlighted in the “Design” section is that the case of the Mechlands Blade75 is extremely rugged with a full-metal build (Aluminum) and by the weight of the keyboard (1.64kg) you can easily notice that the brand has packed a generous and thick amount of metal for this case.

Of course, as any metal keyboard, this is not the best companion for portability, yet we can’t help but love metal keyboards and the feel of them that it can simply not be reproduced by any plastic keyboard.

On top of that, the company has equipped the internals of the Blade75 with equally as premium components as its externals; including a hot-swappable board, flex-cut polycarbonate plate, sandwich foam, IXPE switch pad and PET film, all in a gasket mount design.

KEYCAPS
gramophone-256605/5

The keycap set that comes with the Mechlands Blade75 (blue model) are as beautiful as the case, matching perfectly the aesthetics and refreshing spirit of the keyboard.

The set is made of double-shot PBT material and sport a classic Cherry profile.

These keycaps are not just nice looking but also functional with a smart contrast of blue fonts over white body and white fonts over blue/purple, both of which result in an easy readability without effort.

The white keycaps have a very fine and subtle texture to them while the blue and purple ones are a bit more gritty, yet pleasant to the touch.

The knob sitting on the upper right edge, has a stealthy design with the same color as the case.

The rotational movement of the encoder responds with tactile feedback per notch but no audible clicky sounds; we found the weight and resistance of the knob to be pinpoint perfect for precise step by step control yet easy to be used with a single finger.

SW

SWITCHES
gramophone-25660
4/5

The Mechlands Blade75 had to had at least one “weak” point; and this is the fact the brand only ships it with a single mechanical switch model pre-assembled, so users will not have the chance to select it with different switches from factory.

The specific switch offered assembled from factory is the Mechlands Verdant, which is of linear type.

The Mechlands Verdant switches showed a fast and responsive personality combined with a bit heavier feel than some popular linear switches. This combination allowed it to be versatile to be used as a daily driver and at the same time enabling a significantly lower typing error rate than overly light and fast switches.

MechLands Verdant Switch

Operating Force: 42±5gf
Bottom Force: 50±5gf
Pre Travel: 1.8±0.4mm
Total Travel: 3.8±0.4mm

CON

CONNECTIVITY
gramophone-256604.75/5

Many premium metal keyboards sacrifice connectivity and tend to be wired only. This is not the case for the Mechlands Blade75 which is a tri-mode wired and wireless keyboard.

Specifically, the Blade75 can be used through a wireless Bluetooth connection (with 3 separate banks), a detachable USB-C wired connection and an additional 2.4G wireless connection with the included dongle – the dongle has a dedicated storage slot on the back edge of the keyboard’s case.

This same back edge holds the USB-C connector and a switch to set the keyboard in Bluetooth, wired or 2.4G mode.

As specs goes, the keeb can offer gaming qualities like anti-ghosting NKRO, 1000Hz polling rate and latency as low as 5.3ms.

S

SOUND
gramophone-256605/5

Metal keyboards do not only offer a satisfying tactile feel but also, usually, never disappoint on the sound department.

In fact, this keyboard equipped with the Verdant linear switches presented a top-tier sound profile with a combined flavor of pop with some thock on every keypress.

Moreover, the pre-lubed, plate-mounted stabilizers came perfectly lubed without showing signs of mushy feel nor any type of rattling.

B

BATTERY
gramophone-256604/5

Like a common standard of modern keyboards, the Mechlands Blade75 holds inside a 4000mAh rechargeable battery to power it while being used in wireless mode.
