EPOMAKER TH99 PRO, part of the newest larger than TKL keyboards from Epomaker and a successor of the older TH99.
The Epomaker TH99 PRO was recently released under the TH series, which is probably the biggest and one of the most popular series from Epomaker – series that we have reviewed nearly entirely throughout the last 10 years and which includes part of the most sold models from Epomaker like the: TH80 PRO, TH80 PRO V2, TH85, TH80-X and the newer TH33.

ACCESSORIES & PACKAGING
4/5
The keyboard comes inside the typical modern Epomaker packaging with essential internal padding and including:
2x switches
Dust cover
USB cable
Keycap/switch puller
D
DESIGN
4.75/5
The Epomaker TH99 PRO is a 96% keyboard with ANSI US layout that includes 98 keys and a knob. This is a quite unusual layout that is neither 100% nor 98% but a more compact form factor that is able to include the full numpad (even the “0” is full-sized), full F number row, arrow keys and add 4 of the more useful navigation keys of a TKL format.
A distinct characteristic of the Epomaker TH99 PRO is a nice RGB strip light that goes all along the back edge of the case and extends to both halves of the lateral edges of the shell too.
Recently, we reviewed the TH108 PRO, which had a strong similarity in the zone of the display screen. This was the presence of the same style of button with a RGB ring light but that it, actually, is not a button and has not functionality at all other than being an aesthetic detail.
Another shared element with the TH108 PRO and Vibe108 are a column of status LED light indicators sitting between the ESC and F1 keys. These 4 indicators are clearly labeled with Num, Caps, Scr and Win to eliminate any guesswork.

DISPLAY SCREEN
3.75/5
We have seen the exact same display screen of the TH99 PRO being used in plenty of current keyboards (TH108 PRO, QK108, K762 PRO, K761 PRO); to our liking the display is a bit on the too small size with tiny fonts (mostly the date) but it is still better than not having one.
To be fair the screen is fully colored and offers useful info like date, time, battery status, Win lock, Caps lock, Scr lock, connection mode and bank, animated GIF and even a built-in OSD that allows the control of the RGB lighting system.

CONSTRUCTION & BUILD
4.5/5
Following the trend of most keyboards from the brand, the TH99 PRO has a full ABS shell but with a more rugged feel and significantly heavier weight than other plastic keyboards.
The model is equipped with a hot-swappable, south-facing RGB backlit board that allows users to replace the switches at any given time with zero soldering involved.
Internally, the keyboard also sports superior components at this price range; like 5 layers of sound dampening, plate-mounted stabilizers (pre-lubed), dual flex-cut (PCB board and PC plate), all in a gasket mounted design.

KEYCAPS
5/5
The keycaps set bundled with this Epomaker keyboard are made of PBT with double-shot manufacturing; which makes them fade-free and oil-resistant unlike cheapo ABS keycaps used on most mainstream keyboards.
The keycaps do not only are much better construction-wise but also feel and look very nice with a mid-grit textured finish and light and airy color-theme using white, pastel purple and pastel light-blue colors that harmonically blend in together.
It is fair to mention that we find the theme to be gorgeous but the main keys being white with subtle pastel violet printings make them much less contrast than a classic black over white and might make them significantly less visible in dark desk setups.
The knob sitting on the top right corner is made of metal and responded with a light weight (easy to handle with 1 finger) and tactile feedback per notch.

SWITCHES
4.25/5
You can select your keyboard with 3 different colors: black grey, white blue (like this one) or pink; but you can also choose it to come with either silent or linear switches.
The switches offered from factory are:
Epomaker Creamy Jade linear
Epomaker Sea Salt Silent V2 silent switches
The model that we are reviewing is pre-assembled with the Creamy switches.
These Epomaker Creamy Jade switches have nailed their model naming as their feel has a clear characteristic that can be defined as “creamy”
In fact, they give an unique satisfying typing sensation with a smoother personality but can risk to feel “slower” or “sluggish” if you directly compared them with the Wisteria.

CONNECTIVITY
4.75/5
If you have been following Epomaker keyboards you should know by now that the Epomaker TH99 PRO is also a tri-mode wired and wireless keyboard.
This means that it can be used with its detachable USB-C connection or wirelessly with either the dongle for 2.4G wireless connectivity or with any of the 3 banks under Bluetooth.
The connection mode is selected with a switch placed on the rear edge, next to the USB-C port.
In order to avoid losing the 2.4G dongle, the TH99 PRO has a dedicated storage slot under one of the adjustable kickstands.
If you are interested in the net tech specs related to connectivity, this keyboards reaches up to 1000Hz (polling rate) and 2ms of latency and has anti-ghosting supporting N-Key Rollover.
S
SOUND
5/5
The Epomaker TH99 PRO with Epomaker Creamy Jade switches presented a delightful sound profile that fuses thocky, poppy and creamy qualities.
The quality of the internal, sound enhancing layering and lube from factory granted a completely clean and premium overall sound for the TH99 PRO having absolutely no issues with pinging, stabs rattling, hollow resonance nor wobbly elements.

B
BATTERY
5/5
It is nice seeing that Epomaker has been packing much larger than average batteries in their bigger keyboards.
In fact, the TH99 PRO comes with a remarkable 10000mAh rechargeable battery, which is even 3 times bigger than the batteries of some other full-sized keyboards on the market.
