QCY H3 PRO

| Over-Ear | Bluetooth | 40 mm Driver | Active Noise Cancelling |

QCY H3 PRO, the latest over-ear headphone from the H3 series.

In the past we reviewed the original QCY H3, now the brand is introducing the upgraded version with the QCY H3 PRO.

This new model has a confusingly similar name to the older sibling but they should not be confused as they are perform miles differently – in fact, we were surprised of the major upgrade and improvement shown in the new QCY H3 PRO.

Inside, the H3 PRO includes a large 40mm titanium-plated diaphragm dynamic driver per side, 3 mics for ENC phone calls and Active Noise Cancelling and a battery with a rated runtime of 55 hours per charge.

The QCY H3 PRO is compatible with QCY mobile app, which enhances the customization of the headphone and incorporating features like:

• EQ presets (including 360 spatial sound)

B

Bass & Sub Bass

The brand has achieved a bass performance that is not easy to reach, with a very fun and punchy mid-bass and good extension, allowing deep sub-bass reproduction but, at the same time, keeping bounciness and boom under fair control.

As a consequence of this, the QCY H3 PRO can offer listeners all the bass needed to cover any genre, yet not becoming an overkill boosted bass that eats up the rest of the sound signature.

M

Mids & Vocals

The midrange of the QCY H3 PRO has a distinctively very warm profile with a full lower mids and deep male vocals.

On the other hand, the meaty bass shows its presence over the lower midrange, adding a fairly acceptable level of bleed for the consumer sound profile.

Upper mids and female vocals are far better separated from this bleeding, showing crisp and alive characteristics without neither falling into an overdone forward sound.
Indeed, the QCY H3 PRO does not suffer from upper highs harshness.

H

Highs & Treble

Following the tendency of the midrange, highs inherit a smooth and pleasant tuning that is not fatiguing.

Nonetheless, the QCY does not become a recessed sounding headphone with dark and muffled highs and treble; you can expect sufficient brightness and detail for daily listening sessions with much better balance than other consumer-budget headphone – of course, this is not an audiophile analytical headphone nor a professional monitor tool.

Sound Leak

If you are a listener that likes hear-loss volume intensity for your music listening sessions and intend to use it in libraries, the H3 PRO might not fit your needs as this headphone presents a substantially higher sound leak than many other over-ear headphones reviewed so far.

Sound Isolation

The QCY H3 PRO showed a very efficient isolation, even when ANC is turned off; in fact, the passive isolation can easily surpass any average headphone.

On top of that, as soon as you turn on its Active Noise Cancellation, the isolation provided by this QCY headphones become remarkably surprising; with excellent control of constant noises such as fans and many nature noises – the performance on the QCY H3 PRO is something that a couple of years ago was not even achieved by mainstream 3-digit premium headphones.

Through the app, users can tune the ANC options by choosing between 5 different cancelling modes and tuning the intensity of each one (including an automated adaptive ANC mode)

In addition to this, the H3 PRO come with an extra Ambient Sound Mode to enhance noises instead of reducing them, so users can have a degree of awareness of the surrounding noises or announcement while in an airport, for example.

Response to Equalization

Either with an external EQ or benefiting from the 8 built-in EQ presets in QCY mobile app, the H3 PRO showed very good response to equalization with net retuning and/or fine-tuning potential to either enhance or tame specific ranges.
