The TaoTronics Active Noise Cancelling Headphones TT-EP01 features a single dynamic driver and ANC packed inside the unit.

Inline you will find 2 modules, first you will see a remote/mic with 3 buttons and later near the 3.5mm plug there is the ANC module. This ANC module holds inside also the battery of the unit that get’s charged by it’s micro USB port.

The Active Noise Cancelling module of the TaoTronics Active Noise Cancelling Headphones TT-EP01 is as tall as the one of the BOSE QuietComfort 20 but it is 3 times smaller (length and width).

The cable of the TaoTronics Active Noise Cancelling Headphones TT-EP01 is rounded and very rubberized to decrease the chances of tangling issues.

The housing have a plastic section and a metal back plate with angled nozzles to improve their fit and comfort – their overall shape and size is fairly small.

Mids & Vocals

The TaoTronics Active Noise Cancelling Headphones TT-EP01 mids are warm but not too congested, with medium/low mid-bass bleed. Lower vocals sound alive and present while higher mids are crisp and clear but not harsh.

With an EQ there is a slight improvement with no radical modification of their personality.

Their rolled-off highs give them very low chances of piercing highs but some sibilance can arise from time to time.

Sound Isolation

The sound isolation provided by the TaoTronics Active Noise Cancelling Headphones TT-EP01 is very noticeable (while not activating it’s ANC function).

Once their ANC function is turned on, the TaoTronics TT-EP01 noise isolation + noise cancellation provides a very strong reduction of surrounding noises.

We measured the noise cancellation of the TaoTronics TT-EP01 and it resulted in a maximum of 25dB and averaged from 15dB to 20dB, which is a very efficient active noise cancellation level.

Response to Equalization

The response to EQ of the TaoTronic TT-EP01 was probably one of the least efficient performer of the overall tests. Mids did not show a strong improvement but bass and highs did become punchier, deeper and brighter.
