Womier SK75 TMR

| Magnetic-Mechanical Keyboard | 8000Hz Polling Rate | 75% | Hot-Swappable | Wireless/Wired | Gasket-mounted | South-facing |

Womier SK75 TMR, the newest magnetic-mechanical keyboard from Womier.

We have reviewed hundreds of keyboards in the last 10 years but this is the very first one from Womier that we are testing.

From a spec and price-point, the Womier SK75 TMR promises premium features and capabilities at a fraction of the asking price of similar competitors. We will evaluate how the Womier stands-up and if it is able to hold on to what it promises.

It is important to highlight that the Womier SK75 exists also in a classic mechanical, non-magnetic keyboard variant and should not be mistaken with each other despite the nearly identical model naming used for each model.

To make it straightforward and clear, if you are looking for the model with magnetic switches (like the one that we are reviewing) you need to get the variant that includes “TMR” in the model name; thus Womier SK75 TMR – the non-TMR is the mechanical-only variant.

D

DESIGN
gramophone-256605/5

We have reviewed many keyboards that adopt the all-black and nearly all-black theme design but most of them end up being dull and lacking personality; the Womier SK75 TMR, instead, has truly nailed the dark theme with small details that set it apart and makes it gorgeous.

Part of these details include a black finish with tiny silver sparkles, a chroma mirror on the bottom case, a keycap set with colored fonts and a 6 colored keycaps (WASD, 2xCMD, OPT) so you can personalize it if you want and either accent the gaming profile or Mac mode.

The Womier has a 75% layout in ANSI US with 81 keys in total but you will not find any knob, encoders nor display screen. The 75% form factor includes the full F number row, arrow keys and 5 of the most useful navigation/extra keys found on TKL keyboards.

The TMR variant is available exclusively in black color, if you see other similar ones in varied colors, then you are watching at the non-TMR model that is not a magnetic keyboard.

CONSTRUCTION & BUILD
gramophone-256605/5

The first thing that you will notice right away is the tank-alike build quality of the Womier SK75 TMR and its hefty weight of 2kg.

The keyboard, as you imagine by now, has a full-metal case but this one is clearly using thicker aluminum than on other metal keyboards as it sits among the heavier ones that we have tested; this gives it a durable and premium feel – also the bottom case carries a true mirror.

On top of that, the Womier is equipped with a hot-swappable, south-facing ARGB backlit board that is compatible with both magnetic and mechanical switches; so you can replace the switches without any soldering involved and even decide to use magnetic switches or classic mechanical ones.

If this was not enough, the internals of the keyboard hold a quint-layered design to enhance the typing feel and dampen its noise – the layers include a EPDM case foam, PET acoustic film, IXPE switch pad, Poron plate foam and FR4 plate; all in a top-mount design.

Due to this, the Womier SK75 TMR, actually, is a magnetic and mechanical keyboard and not solely a magnetic one.

KEYCAPS

Apart from the extra colored keycaps, the rest of the set have completely black body but with very nice light blue colored fonts that not only make them prettier but also combine into perfect contrast to become easy to read in any situation.

The keycaps have Cherry profile and are made of quality and durable double-shot PBT, so users are ensured long lasting, fade-free and oil resistant keycaps.

The finish have a mid-textured surface that feels nice to the touch and improves their anti-slippery properties.

SWITCHES
gramophone-25660
5/5

As you might have already noticed, the Womier SK75 TMR comes from factory with magnetic switches. The specific switches included are from OUTEMU.

Being of magnetic type, these switches offer all the advantages, customizations, features and superior performance of all modern magnetic switches, such as:

• Adjustable actuation
• Rapid trigger
• Snap key SOCD
• Dynamic keystroke: up to independent 4 actions per key
• Toggle keys
• Multi trigger

Of course macros and reprogramming is fully enabled and all of the listed features above and macros are available per-key.

OUTEMU switches might have been seen many times on budget mechanical keyboards and, for some, do not hold up to the reputation of other popular brands like Gateron, Cherry or even mainstream like Razer. In spite of this, the magnetic variant by OUTEMU that come pre-assembled with the Womier keyboard are far from being underperformers.

In fact, even after reviewing a plethora of keyboards and switches we can still say that this OUTEMU have nothing to envy from any other magnetic switch and keyboard that we have tested so far.

The switch model name is not specified but we can share with you the full tech specs:

• Stem: POM
• Housing: PC
• Adjustable actuation: 0.1mm – 3.5mm
• Adjustment precision: 0.01mm
• Actuation force: 40gf
• Total travel: 3.5mm
• Initial travel: 2.0mm
• Bottom out force: 48gf

CON

CONNECTIVITY
gramophone-256605/5

Many magnetic keyboards tend to fall-short in the connectivity department, being most of them wired only. Instead, the Womier SK75 TMR is a tri-mode keyboards, which means that you can use it through its detachable USB-C connection or wirelessly by connecting it via Bluetooth or with a high-performing wireless 2.4G connection with the included dongle.

Another big difference with the Womier against other gaming and magnetic keyboards is its whopping 8000Hz of polling rate that are accessible in either the wired mode and 2.4G wireless mode.

Gamers will be thrilled by the polling rate combined with the adjustable magnetic switches and further specs like 0.125ms of latency and 16000Hz scanning rate.

An odd detail mention is that the on/off switch is not placed on the back edge near the USB port; to find it you will need to remove the Caps Lock key and look for the switch that is directly placed on the board itself – this is a very rare and probably not overly friendly placement but we have seen the exact same in many AKKO keyboards too (both magnetic and mechanical models)

S

SOUND
gramophone-256604.5/5

To get your expectations right, if this is going to be your first magnetic keyboard, you should know that magnetic keebs have a different sound profile than classic mechanical keyboards and do not tend to offer the deep, low-tone thock that many enthusiasts sought after on mechanical keyboards.

As with have encountered with other top-notch magnetic keyboards, the Womier offered a clean sound with a profile that could be defined as poppy/marbly smooth and no single trace of pinging, hollow, echo nor resonance was ever present.

Moreover, the sound can be highly controlled by either smashing the keys or make them almost silent if pressed gentler.

The stabilizers came perfectly pre-lubed from factory making them free of mushy response and yet never exhibiting rattling noises – beside the left Shift that could use a bit of extra lube.

B

BATTERY
gramophone-256605/5

Throughout the review, the Womier SK75 TMR showed plenty of features that make it superior to other direct competitors and its battery capacity is yet another way better spec.

With a capacity of 8000mAh, the internal battery in this keyboard has twice the juice of what most other TKL and even larger keyboards usually sport; thus ensuring at least twice the runtime on single charge.
