A
Accessories & Packaging
The Yersen FEN-2000 unboxing results in a nice case, 1 MMCX cable with memory cable, 1x MMCX without memory cable, 3x normal eartips, 3x transparent eartips with a front “filter/grid” and 3x foam tips. Everything comes inside a packaging that clearly copies the one of the Beats urbeats – some sellers will ship the Yersen FEN-2000 without packaging.

B
Bass & Sub Bass
Mid-bass offer a good enough amount of punch but not very deep sub-bass. Their tuning has a conservative sub-bass and a controlled but sufficiently energetic and punchy mid-bass. People looking for a bassy or fun sounding earphone will feel extremely disappointed.
To whom prefers a more conservative bass, less bass-centered and with lower mid-bass bleed will be more inline with the Yersen FEN-2000.
Applying an EQ there is a noticeable addition of sub-bass depth but not a great empowering of their mid-bass.
During our extreme basshead test the Yersen FEN-2000 managed to take up to 30% of a Fiio E12 Mont Blanc max power with a general deepening of their sub-bass but they cannot even dream to provide any basshead rumble nor impact.

M
Mids & Vocals
The Yersen FEN-2000 mids show little to no mid-bass bleed but distant and thin male vocals. In general, there is a bit of warmth but their mids tend to a thin style. Higher mids are crisp but easily become harsh.
If you have advanced knowledge in equalization you will be able to re-tune them and fix nearly everything that the brand mis-tuned, extracting out of them the real potential of their drivers. The results that are achievable are: present lower vocals, fuller sound yet no-mid bass bleed and much gentler harsh peaks. To be able to reach this you will need a very good expertise in EQ and most won’t be able to achieve it.

H
Highs & Treble
Highs of the Yersen FEN-2000 are super bright but do not resolve a great amount of detail, people might confuse their overly bright and forward highs with detail but they certainly do not excel in the detail department.
The forward tuning of their highs tend to a very fatiguing sound that is excessively sibilant – even for non-treble sensitive people.
Similarly to their mids, their highs can be fixed and re-tuned as they should had been by a very advanced EQ. The results obtainable here are less efficient than on mids but still provide a very important improvement of their sound quality.

SL
Sound Leak
The sound leaking out of the Yersen FEN-2000 is fairly low, far from being the lowest but still noticeably better than many standard earphones.

SI
Sound Isolation
The sound isolation provided by the Yersen FEN-2000 is substantially more efficient than most average earphones, yet if you are pursuing a total isolation they will require to crank up the volume.

EQ
Response to Equalization
The Yersen FEN-2000 are 100% dependable on an EQ to sound as they should and re-tune them to an acceptable/tolerable sound quality.
We mentioned during the EQ mids section that a deep knowledge of EQ is needed to re-tune them, highs present an even more difficult to repair challenge.
