The Aula SC590 PRO comes in a basic cardboard box with simply an USB-C cable as a bundled free accessory.

Sometimes gaming mice come with some freebies like extra skates and other things but this is not the case for the Aula.

The AULA SC590 PRO is a gaming mouse with an ergo form factor that can fit right-handed and lefties (if lefties are OK with the side-buttons placed on the left)

A special characteristic of the AULA SC590 PRO is that it holds a display screen on the top section between the main clickers and the encoder. This screen gives information about the connection mode, battery status and DPI preset being used (informing the exact DPI value). What you might not see from the photos is that the top transparent cover over this display is also a clickable button that allows to switch between the DPI presets that are pre-programmed.

The AULA has 2 nice RGB LED light sections, one backlit as 2 strip lights along the wheel of the encoder and a wide 2nd strip light that goes all along the bottom rear part of the shell. Both of them will temporarily change of color to identify the DPI preset that has been chosen and will also serve for some status indicators.

On top of the functional aspects of the RGB lights, they also add a very nice aesthetic embellishment to the mouse while not falling into a tacky or over-the-top RGB flashy effect.
You can buy the AULA SC590 PRO in 2 colors: white with black accents or all-black (like the model that we have)

If you get the black version, the model will be truly all-black as even the side buttons and bottom of the mouse are entirely black.

CONSTRUCTION & BUILD

With a price that does not even reach $50, we were not expecting that this budget mouse was equipped with a PAW3311 optical sensor with specs such as 20.000 DPI, tri-mode connectivity and 1000Hz polling rate.

Moreover, the shell has a nice semi-matte finish and slightly gritty feel that was excellent to add a layer of grip and avoid an overly slippery plastic finish.

The AULA SC590 PRO is declared as a mouse weighting 64g but our measurements showed a weight of 69.10g

SWITCHES

The brand informs that the AULA has micro-switches but does not specify which brand or model nor lists deep tech-specs of these switches – you are not even given the rated clicks lifespan.

From out tests, though, we did not find too much to complain about these micro-switches and presented a slight amount of pre-travel that we welcomed to avoid undesired clicks.

The side clickers have a way more noticeable pre-travel but varies according to the part of the button that you are pressing (to the front, to the back or dead on centered)

CONNECTIVITY

As we mentioned in the Build section, the AULA SC590 PRO has tri-mode connectivity, accepting wired and wireless use and can reach up to 1000Hz of polling rate.

The wired mode works through a USB-C detachable cable, while wirelessly you can use it through Bluetooth or with the included dongle to benefit from a better performing 2.4G wireless connectivity.

Because most mice use a switch on the bottom shell to choose the connectivity mode, you might think that this is the same for the switch found on the bottom of the AULA; but this switch is exclusively used to turn on or off the RGB lighting. Instead, to choose the wireless mode you do it through the rounded button that is a few millimeters below the switch.

A detail that we appreciate with this mouse is that it has a dedicated storage slot for the dongle.

SOUND

The main clickers has a very consistent coherence between both the sound profile of the left and right clicker with a decisive mid-high pitched click sound – with the button function of the wheel sharing a similar sound style.

Contrarily, the side buttons have a low-pitched and much more muted personality.

The remaining clickable button is the DPI/display one, which has a clicky mid-pitched tone.

The only drawback was seen with the rotary encoder that showed some sort of weird “tactile grinding” on 25% of a full rotation cycle downwards. This “defect” has, unfortunately, drastically lowered the score in this department but we almost sure that this might be a QC issue of our specific unit.

PERFORMANCE

The AULA was efficient and responsive throughout all the tests, showing main clickers that were easy to spam click with no single input being missed. The side buttons were decent to smash too but the pre-travel made them “slower” than the main clickers.

The pre-equipped skates made the mouse a mid-performer with some non-fatiguing sliding being achievable but it will not reach the fluidity nor offer the same sliding distance with the same force as one top-class gaming mice.

BATTERY

The AULA holds inside a larger than average battery with a capacity of 500mAh.

We consider this a smart compromise between weight and much more usable runtimes than other gaming mouse that go way too short in their batteries.
