The EPOMAKER x FEKER Galaxy 80 is a hefty keyboard with a full aluminum alloy case shell, you will feel right away that this is not the typical flimsy plastic keyboard.

Internally, this FEKER keyboard is equipped with a hot-swappable board compatible with 3/5-pin switches and a gasket mounted design that the brand labels as a leaf-spring gasket structure.

On top of that, this model has a premium 5-type, 6-layer dampening system that includes a PCB sandwich silicone pad, PORON sandwich cotton, IXPE switch pad, EMDP switch cotton, PET acoustic pad and PET bottom pad.

To keep the keyboard in place, the bottom case has 4 silicone feet that do an excellent job avoiding any slippery issue.

This FEKER keyboard comes with PBT keycaps that will not get oily nor fade away throughout time.

The keycaps have the very popular MDA profile which tend to be a bit more ergonomic than classic Cherry keycaps.

The fonts use a nice contrast of light letters over a darker background and very large size that result in an easy to see and recognize effect.

Construction-wise, the keycaps have a double-shot build with a fairly thick amount of material, while the finish of the keycaps have a subtly-textured finish that provides a smooth feel to the touch while giving good grip – even with sweaty fingers.

The EPOMAKER x FEKER Galaxy 80 comes preassembled with only 1 type of switches, the FEKER Marble White.

The FEKER Marble White are pre-lubed linear switches with an excellent balance of pre-travel and force that gives a fast and non-fatiguing typing experience.

The switches never presented scratchiness nor lagging performance and provided accurate input without exhibited duplicated ghost keypresses.

This keyboard can be connected with up to 5 devices thanks to a triple connection design that includes a wired detachable USB-C cable, 2.4G wireless with the included dongle and Bluetooth with 3 slots for different devices.

You might notice that there are no status light on the shell of the keyboard; in fact, the FEKER uses a neat strip light above the arrow keys to inform the status of the connectivity, while the board light of the Fn key provides info of the battery and its charge.

The EPOMAKER x FEKER Galaxy 80 has some specs and features that can attract gamers, like the superior quality of the components used to build the keyboard and fairly fast linear switches; but if you are a polling-rate obsessed gamers, the brand does not specify this spec.

It is worth highlighting that the brand neither specifies if this is a NKRO keyboard with anti-ghosting, yet according to our tests, the EPOMAKER x FEKER Galaxy 80 is capable of providing these gaming capabilities.

The top performing switches, stabs and overall construction gives a wonderful use for any productivity tasks while the TKL with the added keys over small 60% keyboards make it a perfect match for these type of users – unless you rely on constant use of a numpad.

The TKL format with all the F number row (plus an extra F13 key) and all main navigation keys combine in an excellent type for office work, while the top-notch components and wired/wireless connectivity provide another layer of office-related comfort and efficiency.

On the other hand, we find miles better to have a TKL keyboard with a dedicated numpad like the CIDOO V21 or EPOMAKER EK21 than what you would get with a single full-sized 100% keyboard.

Being that the keyboard offers Bluetooth connectivity, it makes it a capable companion for mobile users, yet due to its massive weight you might want to look elsewhere if you are intending to use is it as mainly portable keyboard.

The FEKER has a south-facing RGB light design that improves the efficiency of the lighting effects.

In total, the keyboard offers 19 lighting presets available through software, which also include dynamic music following special RGB effects.

In addition to the switches LED lights, the strip light on the top case is also RGB and, if wanted, can be left on while turning off the rest of the lights of the board.

The FEKER Galaxy 80 provides clean and pristine sound right out of the box without needing any manual lubing nor disassembly.

The stabilizers come well-preassembled and pre-lubed from factory presenting rattle-free and quick non-mushy performance.

The FEKER switches used in the Galaxy 80 combined with the PBT keycaps and multi-layering of the keyboard result in zero hollow, resonant and pinging issues.

At the same time the resulting sound profile has a premium thocky flavor with a quality inline with good DIY barebone kits and within the level of the superb CIDOO V75 Pro and LEOBOG Hi75.

The EPOMAKER x FEKER Galaxy 80 uses VTER software for the customization and programming of the keyboard.

The software includes all the main programming, macros, layering, lighting customization; all of the customizations are allowed per key without limits, while the overall UI is fairly clear.

BATTERY

To power the keyboard while using it wirelessly, the unit includes an internal 4000mAh lithium-ion battery – the capacity is a bit larger than what is typically seen on 60% up to TKL keyboards.

Despite that the brand does not specifies the battery runtime, we have been using the keyboard for a whole week of full-time office work without needing to recharge it.
