The HUION INSPIROY Giano G930L has a classic pen tablet/graphic tablet design with a clean, dark overall color.

This pen tablet makes good use of its dimensions, without extra thick bezels and where most of the top area is a true working space.

The left edge of the device has a glossy finish and is the section where the express keys and the display of the HUION INSPIROY Giano are placed.

If you have seen HUION catalog and listings for the INSPIROY Giano G930L, you will see that the brand refers to this model as a 13.6″ pen tablet but this is, truly, an effectively 16″ tablet with full 16″ of diagonal working space. The 13.6 inches that HUION lists is the horizontal dimension of the working active area, nearly every other brand would had highlighted the generous 16″ diagonal size instead of pointing to the 13.6″ of horizontal size.

Size-wise, this HUION graphic tablet has the same footprint of the GAOMON PD156Pro and VEIKK VK1560Pro that we have reviewed in the past.

Despite the very similar size, the HUION is way slimmer and lighter – you can stack nearly 3 of these HUOIN tablets on the same height of the GAOMON or VEIKK.

All the express keys have a bit of tactile and clicky feedback but none of them is too tactile. If you are used to or prefer a more evident feedback, you will discover a different intensity of the buttons on this HUION graphic tablet – though to be precise, the brand lists the silent character of this buttons as a strength selling point.

On the other hand, the buttons have a smart “dash” and “O” protruding shape that makes it easier to recognize which keys you are pressing and differentiating a button programmed to increase a setting (like zoom in) from one that is intended to reduce it (like zoom out)

CONSTRUCTION & BUILD

The HUION INSPIROY Giano has a nice rugged feel with a confident but non-excessive weight to it.

The tablet is equipped with a full metal bottom case, adding a layer of heftiness and durable structure. In fact, this HUION tablet feels much more rugged than all pen displays reviewed up to date, yet lighter (the exact weight is 1145g)

The bottom is also equipped with 4 rubberized feet with a dot shape; these feet have a low profile, helping to conserve the overall thin spirit of the device – in comparison to other rubberized feet, these might not be as sticky.

The textured, paper-like feel when sliding the pen on the surface of the HUION INSPIROY Giano is quite remarkable; in fact, none of the pen displays that we have reviewed so far can achieve this level of sensation.

Moreover, the pen comes with extra nibs that enhance even further the paper feel, giving an exponential boost on the ability to mimic the pen-on-paper flavor.

As always, the pen from HUION is simply superior in comparison with the pens of VEIKK, GAOMON and UGEE, putting them side to side would be an unfair comparison.

The specific pen model included is the PW517, which uses the latest PenTech 3.0 from HUION.

Spec-wise, the HUION pen offers 8192 pressure levels and tilt function with 60 degrees of range.

Also, the pen holder is the best among all, in fact even when we use pen displays and pen tablets from other brands, the HUION pen holder has a granted fixed space in our graphic power station.

The pen is inter-compatible with the pen of other HUION pen displays and pen tablets, for example, you can use the pen of the HUION KAMVAS 13 on the HUION INSPIROY Giano G930L and vice versa.

Unlike most pen tablets on the market, the HUION INSPIROY Giano G930L does not only offer a modern single USB-C cable connection but, also, a wireless Bluetooth one.

This Bluetooth connection enables a whole new layer of possibilities for users intending to have a pen tablet that can be used both with a computer and with mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets – a PC and phone mode is available, restricting the active workspace of the pen tablet to a vertical fraction that better corresponds to a phone layout.

Pressure & Tilt

So far, every product from HUION has showed a superb performance with a vastly better pressure and tilt sensitivity than most competitors, where a finer control and more responsive pen is presented every time we test them.

The pen of the HUION INSPIROY Giano G930L is pristinely tuned right out of the box, regarding its pressure sensitivity curve, allowing a smooth flow without having to work out a custom curve and threshold that feels natural.

The device showed no compatibility nor configuration issues with all mainstream and most common graphic, photo and video software on the market. We tested the device with Adobe Creative Suite, Affinity software, MediBang, Krita, Clip Studio and Corel Painter – also Microsoft Office for OneNote and Word.

Lag

The same degree of smoothness and instant response to all inputs seen during the pressure/tilt analysis were exhibited throughout all the lag and delay tests.

Thanks to the faster report rate of >300PPS, the HUION INSPIROY Giano G930L felt nearly as an extension of the hands/pen flow without any unnatural lag.

We could even say that the lag-free results exceeded the performance of many pen displays reviewed that on-specs remain in the 200-ish PPS.

Jitter

The pen tablet did not present jitter unless it was stress-tested with a physical ruler and performing slow tracing of diagonal lines guided by the ruler.

In this case, the unit did show jitter but the amount was drastically reduced in correlation with the tracing speed; being a faster traced diagonal line = lower jitter.

Tracking / Parallax

No issues were perceived during tracking on any section of the screen.

As the limits of the active working area are only delimited by 4 printed angles on the surface of the device, at times when working on the very limits of the tablet, you might fall outside of the active surface, though.
