? JBL T450, a super budget friendly on-ear headphone that sits as one of the most affordable of all JBL headphones.

The JBL T450 features 32 mm dynamic drivers, flat tangle-free cables, a fully foldable design and a frequency response of 20-20000 Hz.

The JBL T450 is sort of the JBL T110 of on-ear headphones. The flat cable of the T450 is exactly the same of the T110 but smaller and thinner than cable of the Sony MDR-V55. Through out the cable you will find an inline mic/remote with a single button, again the exact same of the JBL T110.

The JBL T450 is part of the market of on-ear headphones with a super budget price like the:

The size of the JBL T450 is small and light due to their all plastics construction. The size of the earcups make them an on-ear headphone.

The headband is made of a single plastic piece that does not carry any type of padding.

If you wished that JBL would have made a Bluetooth version of the JBL T450, you are lucky because they did and you can find it as JBL T450BT.

The JBL T450 comes in a nice slim packaging with a design very characteristic from JBL earphones and headphones but, unfortunately, no single accessory is included.

Bass & Sub Bass

The 32 mm drivers of the JBL T450 offer punchy mid-bass but not very deep sub-bass. Overall there is a boosted mid-bass profile that can be a bit too much if you do not welcome very mid-bass centered sound.

Applying an EQ, their bass responds with distorted sub-bass and not much extra punch.

Mids & Vocals

The mids of the JBL T450 are prominently warm with strong mid-bass bleed, congested lower vocals and rolled-off higher mids.

Everything results in a very warm but non fatiguing mids sound and no harshness at all.

Using an EQ there is a noticeable removal of congestion on lower vocals that sound much more present and alive, higher mids will get a bit crispier too without getting harsh.

Highs & Treble

The overall highs of the JBL T450 are very dark with almost no detail and very recessed. To their benefit, there are no piercing highs and almost no sibilance.

Applying an EQ highs become much brighter, reaching a level where there is even no more dark sound,  sibilance will get stronger and more frequent.

Sound Leak

The sound that leaks out of the JBL T450 is slightly lower than on many average on-ear headphones. At a low to moderate-low volume their leaking levels will not cause issues.

Sound Isolation

The sound isolation of the JBL T450 is unexpectedly stronger than many on-ear headphones, they can be used while listening to music at a fairly moderate volume and they will isolate efficiently.

Comfort

On-ear headphones are usually not as comfortable as over-ear headphones due to the pressure applied on the ears, the JBL T450 does not stress-out too much the ears with their earpads with wholes in the middle. The headband is made of plastic and has no padding at all, much like every other competitor on-ear headphone in this price range. On the other hand, they have a solid and clicky headband positions.

The JBL T450 is able to lay flat and to be fully folded, also their cups can be tilted and swivel; the amount and range of movements is superior than on the Sony MDR-ZX110.

Response to Equalization

The response to EQ of the JBL T450 was not very efficient for their mid-bass and sub-bass but did provide a fair amount of improvement in their highs brightness and lower vocals.
