? The KZ SA08 is the newest true wireless earphone from KZ following the young but quickly increasing catalog of TWS in-ear headphones from KZ.
The KZ SA08 is a quad-driver pure balanced armature driver earphone combined with true wireless technology – a match of features that was unimaginale a couple of years ago.
Inside each earpiece there are 3 different models of balanced armature drivers: 1x dual 31736 for high frequencies, 1x 22955 for bass and 1x 29689 for mid frequencies.
This true wireless earphones are equipped with touch sensitive back plates that control some of the most essential playback and calls commands – though the effective section that is touch-enabled is constrained into a smaller part that does not cover the full area of the back plates.
Additional features of the SA08 include a 400mA battery case, triple channel acoustic tubes, AAC HD, Bluetooth 5.0 and a “high performance mode”/low latency for games.
The KZ SA08 is available is one color choice only: black.

Bass & Sub Bass
The KZ SA08 bass offers a mid-bass intense response that translates into a punchy and very entertaining sound.
The lower end of the SA08 can extended fairly well as to present a sub-bass capable of adding fullness and sounding deep for non-sub-bass centered tracks.
Users liking a punchy but not deeply-drowning bass might appreciate the lower frequency’s flavor of the KZ SA08.
With an EQ, sub-bass can be switched into a very deep profile while mid-bass can be pushed for as much boosted punch as desired.

Mids & Vocals
Despite the similar response with the KZ ASF, the overall sound spectrum and sound profile of the KZ SA08 balances better than the aforementioned.
Nevertheless, this does not mean that the KZ SA08 offers any particularly excellence over it’s midrange; instead, the SA08 suffers from the same level of mid midrange recession and upper midrange harshness.
On the other hand, the clean lower mids matched with the better highs of the SA08 can make their male vocals and lower pitched mid-notes to feel present, never distant nor overstepped by any bleed of mid-bass.
An EQ can offer a noticeable midrange improvement overall. If done correctly, their harsh peaks can be acceptably smooth while achieving a better balanced mid and upper midrange – when applying a finely crafted custom EQ by experienced users.

Highs & Treble
The KZ SA08 can be rated as a sufficiently bright earphone with mild detail performance.
As a matter of fact, this true wireless earphone can offer more brightness than many ultra-cheap single-driver TWS but will not achieve the level of refinement of many wired multi-driver earphones.
For casual users that look for a hotter sounding TWS (than usual) might be OK with this one.
Said so, it is fair to note that the KZ SA08 is a fatiguing earphone with piercing spikes but with less-prominent sibilance.
Making use of an EQ, the SA08 can benefit from some reduction of it’s piercing issues – yet, they will be hard to fully erase without sacrificing palpable brightness and detail.

Sound Leak
The KZ SA08 leakage makes them usable under any normal everyday situations without worrying; as long as you are not intending to use them in libraries or similar places.

Sound Isolation
The KZ SA08 should not be confused as an ANC earphone; in fact, the isolation of the SA08 is only passive (like any standard headphone)
Nonetheless, this TWS does a very good job isolating from the environment when comparing it with many average headphones

Comfort
The plastic build of the KZ SA08 makes it a very light weighted earphone – even when compared to many wired earphones.
As it can be seen from our photos, the SA08 is certainly not a slim earphone; this will make them unable to sit flush with the ears but will, still, not protrude excessively out of the ears.
For users will ears that can be considered within a standard size, the bigger form factor of the SA08 will not be an issue. On the other hand, we can estimate that they could be a bit cumbersome for users with ears that are smaller than average.

Response to Equalization
With a strong bass boosting effect with an EQ and fairly good mids/highs fine tuning the KZ SA08 did acceptably well in the EQ department.
