TIN HiFi T3 / TIN Audio T3
| Knowles Balanced Armature | Dynamic Driver |
? TIN HiFi T3, the latest model from TIN HiFi (brand previously called TIN Audio)
The TIN HiFi T3 features a dual hybrid driver configuration with one dynamic driver + a balanced armature per earpiece.
To be more precise, the diameter of the dynamic driver inside the housings of the the T3 is 10mm while the balanced armature is supposed to be a Knowles one (according to the manufacturer)
With the TIN HiFi T3, the brand is entering the hybrid world for the very first time as every previous model from them had only dynamic drivers – like the TIN Audio T2 and TIN HiFi T2 Pro.
You might have noticed that the title of this review is calling the model TIN HiFi T3 / TIN Audio T3; the true name is TIN HiFi T3, though. The brand used to be called TIN Audio but later was renamed to TIN HiFi.
The TIN HiFi T3 has robust, metal housings and curved edges that give them a familiar aesthetic with previous models from the brand.
The cable is detachable and makes use of MMCX connectors. In this area, the brand has moved a huge step forward, offering now a superb 5N 8-core oxygen free copper plated cable that is thick but soft and has very low microphonics. Moreover, the cable is packed with all-metal details, such as the cable bifurcation, connectors and 3.5mm plug.

The TIN HiFi T3 unboxing results in 3 pair of dark eartips, 3 pair of Sony-like eartips, 2 pair of foam tips and the detachable MMCX cable.

B
Bass & Sub Bass
The TIN HiFi T3 bass offers good punch and some sub-bass but will show an overall rolled-off lower extension.
Owners of the TIN Audio T2 and the TIN HiFi T2 PRO will feel like home with the TIN HiFi T3’s bass response. As so, owner’s of the previous generations are aware of this sound characteristic of TIN HiFi’s models and no surprises should be expected.
The bass response of the T3 will cover many genres without issues but will not be the best choice for bass-intense tracks.
Nonetheless, users should not fear of anemic, thin nor body-less sound, as the TIN HiFi T3 is simply an earphone tuned with a less emphasized/boosted bass.
Applying an EQ can enhance their mid-bass but will not make their sub-bass too deep.
Through out the basshead tests, the TIN HiFi T3 managed to take up to 37.5% of the maximum power of a FiiO A5 with a much deeper sound but without rumble nor impact.

Mids & Vocals
The TIN HiFi T3 have a gentle midrange with a bit laid back male vocals but with insignificant mid-bass bleed and not much congestion.
Their upper mids offer good crispness and sound sufficiently clear without getting harsh nor disturbing.
People sensitive to strong peaks will be glad to know that the TIN HiFi T3 will hardly become annoying.
The midrange of the TIN HiFi T3 will fit-well listeners who enjoy smooth mids and vocals instead of aggressive and forward ones.
With an EQ, their lower midrange can be pushed for a less laid back response without degrading their original sound quality.
8.75/10
H
Highs & Treble
The TIN HiFi T3 highs have fairly bright highs with a competent capability regarding their ability to resolve detail.
Nonetheless, the T3 are far from being the brightest earphone that you can get, instead expect a highs and treble tuning coherent with their midrange – meaning that these ranges present a non-aggressive nor forward tuning but neither fall behind with other budget earphones with smooth highs.
TIN HiFi opted for a non-fatiguing sound over a highs-forward or ultra-bright one – these will be great news for very treble sensitive listeners.
An EQ makes their highs ultra-bright and detailed with minor introduction of sibilance.
