? Whizzer TP1, a touch enabled, True Wireless earphone from Whizzer.
The Whizzer TP1 features 10 mm Tesla dynamic drivers, Bluetooth 5.0 and touch sensitive controls.
Whizzer has been on the audio market for a while. In the last years it started gaining acceptance and reputation among audio enthusiasts with 2 of their models:
The housings of the Whizzer TP1 have an hybrid design between Apple Airpods and in-ear headphones. The Airpods resemblance can be seen by the extending bottom section of the earpieces, while the fit, nozzles and placement is exactly like a classic in-ear headphone.
Each earpiece offers touch sensitive back panels and a 55mAh battery per side in a refined looking unit by the graphite finish (non-shiny, dark grey) and the golden accents.
The case follows the same good looking aesthetics of the earpieces while being also a battery pack to charge the earpieces OTG thanks to an internal 450mAh battery.

A
Accessories & Packaging
The Whizzer TP1 unboxing results in 6 pair of eartips, a USB Type-C charging cable and the battery pack/case.
The unit comes inside a larger than average, rectangular box with a clean, white design.

B
Bass & Sub Bass
The Whizzer TP1 has punchy but not over boosted mid-bass that, instead shows a tuning more related with audio enthusiast’s earphones than average consumer ones.
Expect a faster and cleaner bass than most true wireless earphones on the market but that, as a consequence, might not get as deep as models that have a bass-centered sound signature.
Nonetheless, this that not mean that the Whizzer TP1 will fall short of bass response nor sound bass-anemic; users will be welcomed with a lower frequencies capable of fulfilling most tracks requirements – trance, EDM and similar genres should be matched with another model, though.
Applying an EQ, a punchier and deeper sound will be perceived but there will be no extreme makeover of their OTB personalty.

M
Mids & Vocals
The midrange of the Whizzer TP1 tends to show some harshy peaks and slight congestion but, overall, can grant a mids tuning that does not sound overly bloated.
With ths TP1, male vocals are not too distant nor recessed but have a tint of a relaxed sound at times. At the same time, they can become a bit more shouty when lower vocals extend farther ahead on the upper mids.
Moreover, their middle-up mids tend to be shy in comparison to both ends of their midrange.
The higher end of the midrange is clear and offers good crispness, as well as on female vocals which benefit from good separation and aliveness.
A custom EQ can show great results fixing the “shyness” of their middle-up mids and boosting their male vocals but harshness will get enhanced too.
7.5/10

H
Highs & Treble
The highs of the Whizzer TP1 have sufficient brightness without falling into a dark-styled tuning. For a true wireless earphone, the TP1 resolve good-enough detail.
Fatiguing peaks such as sibilance can show up on tracks that are prone to it while piercing peaks might be less frequently perceived.
Overall, the TP1 have a more emphasized highs and upper mids tuning with a less bloated bass than many true wireless earphones on the market.
Using an EQ can provide very noticeable improvement over brightness, detail and separation than the uneq’ed version – in fact, we wished that their OTB highs would had been as the EQ’ed one.
7.75/10

SL
Sound Leak
The sound leaking out of the Whizzer TP1 is kind of inline with most normal earphones, which means that they will be perfectly usable in normally noisy situations or daily commute but could be too hearable to be used in libraries.

Sound Isolation
The sound isolation of the Whizzer TP1 is slightly stronger than many average earphones.
Partial isolation will be felt immediately after putting the earphones on and an exponential increase of their efficiency will be noticed when cranking up the volume but, in general, absolute isolation will not be too easy to achieve – this will be a very positive aspect to users wanting/needing some awareness of their environment.

C
Comfort
The Whizzer TP1 provides the tighter fit and design benefit of in-ear headphones with a partial similarity in form factor and size with Apple Airpods.
The in-ear fit can, also, ensure a more stable fit, stronger seal and more versatile use than regular earbuds.
The design of the housings, with their truncated cone shape and angled nozzles has a strong resemblance with many classic Xiaomi earphones, which has a proven a solid historical reputation for their good comfort and tight fit.

EQ
Response to Equalization
The response to EQ of the Whizzer TP1 showed remarkable results over their lower mids and their overall highs but with a not so noticeable empowering of their bass response.
