The strength provided by their bass adds a full bodied and fun kick to any track.

Applying an EQ there is an insane amount of depth added to their sub-bass and an even much punchier profile is unleashed.

Honestly, unless you are specifically looking for this effect we would recommend approaching an opposite EQ aimed to calm down their mid-bass and sub-bass. If you do so, the overall sound quality of the Xiaomi Mi Bluetooth Neckband Earphones LYXQEJ01JY will improve drastically.

Mids & Vocals

The Xiaomi Mi Bluetooth Neckband Earphones LYXQEJ01JY mids are very warm with a clearly perceivable mid-bass bleed. Lower vocals are laid back and gentle with some congestion due to their bass bleeding strength. Higher mids sound clear and offer enough crispness while remaining free of harshness.

A rough and general EQ clears up their lower vocals fairly well and reduces a substantial amount of mid-bass bleed resulting in a much less congested sound. Higher mids can be pushed for extra crispness and will also respond nicely without getting harsh.

Highs & Treble

The Xiaomi Mi Bluetooth Neckband Earphones LYXQEJ01JY highs offer some brightness with a general dark tint generated by the expanding mid-bass presence. Detail is sufficiently resolved and can be perceived despite the not-so-extremely bright tuning. Overall their highs are smooth and not fatiguing at all that will be a pleasure for treble sensitive people.

If a high amount of dB boosting is applied by an EQ, they will gain a big quantity of detail and their brightness will vastly improve; sibilance will be introduced but only mildly. This EQ benefit will only show it’s results if you push the EQ’s dB a lot.

Comfort

The neckband of the Xiaomi Mi Bluetooth Neckband Earphones LYXQEJ01JY are thicker than others that we have recently reviewed (like the Bluedio T ENERGY) and you might fear that it could be too bulky or uncomfortable but Xiaomi was able to design it quite well with a resulting outstanding comfort thanks to their rubberized but smooth and pleasant to the skin finish.

In addition to this, their housing’s inherited shape from Xiaomi’s recent models and their angled nozzles give them a highly comfortable fit that makes them wearable for hours without a single discomfort or pain issue.

Response to Equalization

The Xiaomi Mi Bluetooth Neckband Earphones LYXQEJ01JY hide behind their strongly mid-bass centered, laid back mids and darkish highs a superior, refined sound quality but to extract this from them you need to apply some advanced Equalization aimed to strongly reduce mid-bass and sub-bass, feed up all mids, leave untouched ranges in the 3.5kHz to 5kHz and cranking up anything from 5.2kHz to 24kHz. The sound signature makeover will be extreme with an absolute opposite style and a more audiophile tuning.

The Xiaomi LYXQEJ01JY are one of the headphones that showed the most drastic results in their sound signature modification after the use of an advanced custom EQ.
