The MCHOSE AX5 Pro Max has a pearled deep grey (almost black) finish that gives it a “cool” look with a modern feel.
As you can clearly see from all photos, the mouses uses a hollow design which sometimes is defined as honeycomb patterned but the MCHOSE uses much bigger holes with triangular shapes.
The bottom inherits also the hollowed design and holds the connection mode switch and DPI button to the sides of the sensor.
Besides a silver printing with the MCHOSE brand on the front right edge of the shell, the mouse has a clean and clear aesthetic without any flashy elements.
On the board (more or less in the same position of the wheel) the MCHOSE AX5 Pro Max has a very bright single LED light that informs the status of the device.
We find fair to highlight that the dongle is hidden beneath the back skates, which might make many users wonder where to find it after unboxing the mouse; though it is nice seeing that the mouse incorporates a built-in dongle slot so you can store it and not lose it while not using it. These back skates are hold in place with a magnetic system that makes it easy to attach/detach without struggling.

The hollowed design with big holes and metal build makes it fresher to the hand feel and provides better grip than plastic and non-hollowed mouses.

The MCHOSE AX5 Pro Max has excellent build quality with a Magnesium-Alloy Exoskeleton and a plastic bottom housing/shell.
The premium magnesium material and hollowed design allows the mouse to be rugged but remarkably light weighted with merely 56 grams of weight (approx. with the dongle)
When you compare the MCHOSE AX5 Pro Max with other gaming mouses like the FANTECH HELIOS II PRO XD3 V3, the MCHOSE feels like a far superior product with every detail well put together and no single rattling nor wobbling pieces.
Some of the differences among the 3 variants of the MCHOSE AX5 are a 8K polling rate for the MCHOSE AX5 Pro Max, a smaller 300mAh battery on the AX5 and a more advanced Nordic 52840 4k chip on the Pro and Pro Max versions.

The MCOHSE AX5 Pro Max has in total 5 buttons divided in the 2 main clickers, the button for the scroll wheel and 2 side buttons.
Another difference between all variants of the MCHOSE AX5 also includes the switches used on each model; being the MCHOSE AX5 Pro Max the only one using TTC Silent micro switches and TTC Dustproof Golden for the 2 cheaper versions.
The main clickers present minimal pre-travel and fast response with a defined clicky feedback; the side buttons also show a tiny amount of pre-travel and a satisfying clicky feedback.
The mouse wheel uses TTC Gold Wheel Roller which offers the right amount of resistance for fast but accurate scroll wheel control while receiving per-notch tactile and audible feedback.

CONNECTIVITY

The MCHOSE AX5 series and the MCHOSE AX5 Pro Max variant are tri-mode mouses allowing to be used and connected either wired or wirelessly.
Wired, the mouse connects through an USB-C detachable cable while wirelessly you can use the mouse through its Bluetooth connection or with efficient 2.4G wireless connection with the included dongle.
The MCHOSE AX5 Pro Max model can reach up to 8K polling rate when used wired or with the 8K dongle.
Since the 8K dongle is not as fancy as other top-tier dongles you might wonder if you actually got the 4K or 8K dongle.

SOUND

The MCHOSE AX5 Pro Max with the TTC Silent switches might make you think that will be actually “silent” but it is far from being muted.
In fact, when comparing the MCHOSE AX5 Pro Max vs Zaopin Z1 Pro, we noticed that the MCHOSE has a significantly higher clicky sound (with a different pitch)
The side buttons and main clickers share a coherent sound profile, which is not typical from many other mouses.
Overall, we find the sound of the MCHOSE AX5 among the more preferred by the team.
It fair to note that our unit had a minor erratically clicky sound when rotating the mouse wheel.

PERFORMANCE

If you thought that you 1000Hz gaming mouse was groundbreaking innovative (or even your 4K premium one), get your pants tight as the MCHOSE AX5 Pro Max offers a whopping 8000Hz polling rate (4K for the standard version) and up to 26000 DPI.
The mouse showed pristinely fast and accurate response as expected from an 8K mouse when used either wired or with the 8K dongle.
When comparing the MCHOSE with the Zaopin Z1 Pro, the MCHOSE showed much more efficient skates sliding with faster response and lower friction which offered farther traveling distance with the exact same pulling and pushing force.
On top of that, the switches and buttons provided lightning fast response with extreme ease of spamming them whenever needed.

SOFTWARE

The software of the MCHOSE has all the customization options of main gaming mouses, including macros, reprogramming, DPI selection, polling rate adjustment, profiles and presets and fine tuning of the mouse settings.
We did notice though that the firmware tool did not seem to be working nor doing anything.

BATTERY

The MCHOSE has a larger battery than many other similar competitors with almost twice the battery capacity at 500mAh and a massive runtime of 170 hours.
Be noticed though that the base model of the AX5 has a 300mAh battery and not 500mAh as the Pro Max model.
