UiiSii GT800

UiiSii GT800

| 12 mm Driver |

? UiiSii GT800, a sporty earphone with robust metal housings, reflective cables and “wings” accessories bundled for free. UiiSii has a huge amount of earphones on the market and despite being a relatively new brand they have manufactured amazing products that can be bought at ultra cheap prices.

We have reviewed many other UiiSii earphones in the past among which you can find the great UiiSii HM7.

The UiiSii GT800 offers a very solid construction with their metal housings. Despite the metal materials they remain light weighted and due to their form factor they provide a solid fit and good comfort. The UiiSii GT800 come packed with detachable “wings” that can be placed on the housings which add a huge amount of strength to their fit. Inside the housings there is a substantially large 12 mm dynamic driver which will be responsible of reproducing all the audio frequencies.

The cables of the UiiSii GT800 are flat and robustly constructed. Added to their construction quality, their cables offer a very handy reflective finish that is applied from the housings connection up to the stereo plug, this feature gives users planning to use them during night running sessions the tranquility that they will be easily seen by passing by cars. The cable also holds an inline microphone and 1 button control that is solidly constructed with the same metal material as the housings and that can be used to accept/reject calls, play/pause songs and skip songs.

If you were attracted by the GT800 but do not dig girly colors, we have good news as the UiiSii GT800 can be bought in 3 different colors: golden, silver or in pink as the one that we are reviewing.

B

Bass & Sub Bass

The large 12 mm dynamic driver from the UiiSii GT800 provides a very strong and energetic bass personality with punchy mid-bass and very deep sub-bass. You can rest assured that the UiiSii GT800 will never have an anemic nor lacking bass response at any given moment.

With an EQ their bass showed a clear increment, centered mainly in sub-bass depth.

Under our extreme bass tests the UiiSii GT800 managed to take up to 51% of a Fiio E12 portable amplifier’s maximum power while being set to high gain, bass boost turned on and with a custom basshead EQ applied. As a result they were able to reach a very respectable rumble and impact way above KZ ATE‘s capacity and entering basshead territory inline with the UiiSii HM7 and Vots QT100.

M

Mids & Vocals

Mids are recessed but not extremely with warm vocals that still do not sound too muffled. Higher mids are clear and can get a hint of harshness with very strong peaks. For less demanding listeners, the mids of the UiiSii GT800 will be very good. An EQ, noticeably clears up all recession signs but higher mids become too harsh and vocals a bit boxy.

H

Highs & Treble

The highs of the UiiSii GT800 are bright but are unable to resolve any kind of detail, piercing highs are recurrent while sibilance is not a frequent issue. Applying an EQ, detail appears out from nowhere. While piercing highs remain equally as frequent as before, their sibilance starts to slightly show up.

SL

Sound Leak

Sound leaking out of the UiiSii GT800 is fairly controlled, not 100% silent as to be used in libraries, but as their design is mainly intended for sports use their sound leakage shouldn’t be something to worry about. For the best earphone in this matter you should check the KZ ATE.

SI

Sound Isolation

Sound isolation is good and similar to many average earphones, they require the use of higher volume levels to achieve an absolute isolation but still provide a substantial reduction of surrounding noises at moderate volume levels.

C

Comfort

With their medium sized housings and super handy ear wings, the UiiSii GT800 provides an outstanding secure fit making them highly capable to withstand any sport activities without falling from the ears while remaining comfortable and pain-free.

EQ

Response to Equalization

The response to equalization was fair but not excellent. Bass showed a clear enhancement of their sub-bass depth with no issues added. Mids cleared up but harshness and boxy sounding vocals were introduced. Highs added detail but also some sibilance.
