The Xiaomi Mi In-Ear Headphones Pro 2 / Quantie 2 (QTEJ03JY) bass is beautifully tuned, with a balanced sound that offers solid mid-bass punch and deep sub-bass but not boosted nor anemic. Not many brands and/or models are able to achieve this level of balance that does not fall into neither of the extremes, well done Xiaomi. Do not expect a basshead bass style.

Applying an EQ, they can be pushed into bassy territory with strong increment of punch and insane addition of depth to it’s sub-bass.

During our extreme basshead tests, the Xiaomi Quantie 2 managed 45% of a Fiio E12 Mont Blanc maximum power becoming hugely more profound sounding and punchier with a mild basshead rumble and impact. Expect something way below the Sony MDR-EX650, Sony MDR-EX800st, Pioneer SE-CX8 or KZ ED16/KZ ZS7.

Mids & Vocals

The Xiaomi Mi In-Ear Headphones Pro 2 / Quantie 2 (QTEJ03JY) mids have very clean sounding mids with clear male vocals and alive female vocals. Lower mids do not suffer from strong mid-bass bleed but overall offer nice warmth. Higher mids are crisp and clear but not harsh.

With an EQ there is an outstanding clearing up of vocals, superb reduction of mid-bass bleed.

The Xiaomi Mi In-Ear Headphones Pro 2 / Quantie 2 (QTEJ03JY) highs are bright, open and resolve a fair amount of detail. Piercing highs are not an issue with these and are not a fatiguing sounding earphone despite a very mild sibilance presence.

An EQ gives them a great brightening of their highs and substantial additional detail is resolved.

The sound leaking out of the Xiaomi QTEJ03JY is somewhat higher than on some average earphones. Not that they leak sound like an open-back headphone but will probably not be the best choice for usage in libraries while listening to music at high volume settings.
