🎧 We are reviewing the KBEAR F1, the second release from the brand.
The KBEAR F1 joins the KBEAR OPAL in the short catalog of the young company. The first release felt like leaving the factory a bit too early; spoiler: the KBEAR F1 is a whole different story.
The KBEAR F1 features an unique housings design with an L shape and squared edges. Adding to the special design, the KBEAR F1 is offered is 2 color options, being one of them brownish (amber) and translucent.
Inside each earpiece, the model holds a single balanced armature driver configuration, which can be easily seen placed next to then end of the nozzles. The earpieces have no left and right indicators, yet to find out which side is which, the logo engraved on the earpieces should be pointing forward.
The cables of the KBEAR F1 are detachable, with MMCX connectors and a silver-colored design.
The MMCX connector ends are fully translucent while the cable bifurcation and straight 3.5mm plug are made of metal.

The KBEAR F1 unboxing results in the detachable MMCX cables and 9 pair of eartips (3 are black-colored, 2 are white semi translucent, 4 are black and red colored)
The packaging of the F1 is a small rectangular box with a dark colored design – the same as the KBEAR OPAL.
Bass of the KBEAR F1 has a sound personality somewhat inline with earphones such as the:
If you are an owner of any of these models, you might understand what we mean. The KBEAR F1 bass will be well adapted for listeners enjoying clean bass that is very fast and not loose at all, yet sufficiently punchy and deep for most genres (not for EDM or basshead genres).
Moreover, their lower frequencies do not exhibit any bounciness nor leaking issues but it is fair to note that this is not an earphone for listeners who are looking for deep, punchy and intense bass.
As with every other model with this kind of lower frequencies response, not much empowering of neither sub-bass nor mid-bass can be expected with an EQ intervention.
During our extreme basshead tests, the KBEAR F1 handled up to 40% of a FiiO A5 maximum power. Given the unamped results of the KBEAR F1, it did not made much sense to expect any basshead makeover and, indeed, no drastic addition of depth was noticed and, certainly, no basshead rumble nor impact was achieved.

The KBEAR F1 mids exhibit no mid-bass bleed, clean lower mids and alive male vocals that do not get congested.
Higher mids are crisp but do not become excessively sharp, yet it is worth highlighting that their upper mids can show harshy peaks if tracks get too intense in these ranges – if your are not particularly sensitive to upper mids harshness you will enjoy a crisp midrange with clear alive female vocals.
An EQ can provide fine tuning to push a bit forward their male vocals. Higher mids are quite ok and do not need much re-tuning, yet if you want to dial down their harshy peaks they will be partially sedated.
The KBEAR F1 highs offer very bright sound with fairly good detail.
The KBEAR F1 will, probably, exhibit more brightness than detail but the overall tuning of their highs makes it sound respectably open, clear and far from suffering from muddiness or recession issues.
Piercing peaks can show up but are not overly present nor too hot – sibilance is more noticeable than their piercing peaks but we would rate them a “spicy” addition within a tolerable range (if you are tolerable to sibilance)
An EQ can add a huge increment of brightness and a remarkable opening up of their highs – detail will not be as empowered as the latter two and sibilance will get more frequently noticeable.
The sound leaking out of this earphone is noticeably lower than on most normal models, having a wide margin to dial up the volume before they will get hearable by nearby people.

The sound isolation provided by the KBEAR F1 is more efficient than on many average earphones, with a partial isolation of the environment, even while listening to music at moderate volume settings.

Without doubts, the KBEAR F1 does not have the most “standard” earpieces shape, this might intimidate some users, giving the impression of awkward fit or discomfort issues.
Instead, we found them to be extraordinarily comfortable; with any part of the housings touching the ears nor generating any kind of fatigue.
Moreover, the squared, L-shaped housings provided and outstanding level of handling with a very easy-to-grab surface without slippery problems.

The response to EQ of the KBEAR F1 was very responsive over their midrange, highs and treble; allowing fine retuning and cleaning up.
On the other hand, their tight bass cannot be pushed for any, significant, additional punch nor depth.
