The EPOMAKER DynaTab 75X comes in the standards type of cardboard box from nearly every other Epomaker keyboard reviewed so far.

Inside you will get:

The cable included with the EPOMAKER DynaTab 75X is the same that we have seen bundled with the EPOMAKER RT100 and EPOMAKER RT100 ISO UK, which is a better quality one with metal connectors ends and a status LED light on the USB-C end.

As the name of the keyboard suggests, the EPOMAKER DynaTab 75X is a 75% mechanical keyboard with 84 keys and an unique Dot-Matrix huge screen.

The form factor of the EPOMAKER DynaTab 75X makes it shorter than a TKL keyboard (in width) but “deeper” than any other keyboard tested so far due to the space occupied by the large Dot-Matrix display.

The light-colored model of the DynaTab 75X that we are reviewing has a refreshingly airily aesthetic with a fun factor added by the “cool” Dot-Matrix display.

We find important to highlight that there is also another version of the DynaTab keyboards, named DynaTab 75 (without the X), which is a variant that does not include the DOT-Matrix screen, so you should be well aware when choosing your model that you are selectin the 75X if you want the model with the screen.

If you are a die-hard fan of knobs, the DynaTab 75X might not fit you as it does not include any kind of knob.

On the other hand, it is nice seeing that the brand has released the model in both ISO and ANSI layouts to fit better all audiences.

DISPLAY SCREEN

The display of the EPOMAKER DynaTab 75X is certainly unique with a way different design, size and even panel screen used.

Instead of being a standard LCD or IPS color panel, the DynaTab 75X uses a dot-matrix design with 540 RGB LED dots extending from the end of the ESC key up to the end of the F10 key (yes, that wide/big it is)

To be honest, when seeing the release of the EPOMAKER DynaTab 75X we feared that the display could be tacky and not offer any real use. Instead, to our surprise the screen can show many different information and status in addition to the “shop sign” style and animations.

Among the info that can be displayed, the screen of the EPOMAKER DynaTab 75X offers:

– Real time CPU usage
– Thermals
– Clock
– Date
– Connection status
– LED brightness level indicator
– LED speed effects indicator
– Battery charge
– Real-time view of key pressed printed on display

As a matter of fact, the CPU and RAM display is something that nearly all of the other keyboards with displays that we have reviewed do not show and that we highlighted to be lacking this function. On the other hand, after a firmware upgrade we were no longer able to reach this CPU/thermals feature of the display.

To switch among the different functions of the display, the keyboard has a dedicated button on the top right of the case, right next to the mode/power switch or you can do it through software.

The EPOMAKER DynaTab 75X has a polycarbonate case resulting in a remarkably light weight (despite the huge battery inside)

In spite of not being a metal keyboard, the DynaTab does not feel cheap nor flimsy as many plastic keyboards on the market – if you own other PC mechanical keyboards from EPOMAKER, you can expect a build quality inline with them.

Underneath the surface, the keyboard comes with a hot-swappable board that allows to change the switches with any compatible 3-pin and 5-pin mechanical switch without needing any soldering.

Internally, the keyboard is equipped with many high-quality stabilizing and dampening layers that include a PC positioning plate with silicone plugs, Poron sandwich foam, PE sheet, 8x IPEX padding, a special sound absorbing layer and latex bottom foam.

KEYCAPS

The keycaps included with both versions of the DynaTax 75X are quality PBT with Cherry profile but differ in the style and design according to the color chosen.

If you get the same color as we are reviewing, you will get a 3-color keycaps set with white and purple colors used; with the main keys being white with purple fonts and the other keycaps have 2 different gradients of purple used.

The keycaps have a very smooth surface with nearly no sandy nor scratching finish over the top layer, making them feel gentle to the finger tips.

SWITCHES

When buying the EPOMAKER DynaTab 75X you will have the option to choose among 4 different pre-assembled switches:

• Epomaker Wisteria (linear)
• Epomaker Wisteria (tactile)
• Epomaker Flamingo (linear)
• Epomaker Sea Salt (silent)

This gives users 2 flavors of linear switches, 1x tactile and 1x silent; so you can decide from factory which one fits you better. We have tested all except the Wisteria tactile switches and we found all of them to be uniquely very good.

The specific variant of the EPOMAKER DynaTab 75X that we are reviewing, came preassembled with EPOMAKER Wisteria switches; linear switches model that we have tested plenty of times on many other mechanical keyboards from EPOMAKER (like on the EPOMAKER TH80 PRO V2, EPOMAKER Brick 87, EPOMAKER EK21) and even themselves alone.

The Wisteria are one of our favorite linear switches from EPOMAKER as they offer excellent performance and a smart balance between speed, actuation force and overall feel.

CONNECTIVITY

As a standard feature of most EPOMAKER keyboards, the DynaTab 75X has a tri-mode connectivity design that allows it to be used wired or wirelessly and easily switch between 5 different devices.

Users can opt to use the keyboard through the detachable USB-C cable or wirelessly through a Bluetooth connection or using the 2.4G dongle – the dongle is hidden below a detachable plate on the upper corner of the keyboard (the purple section that you see on the photos)

To select the connectivity mode, the keyboard includes a dedicated switch on upper right corner of the case.

The solid assembly and quality components of this keyboard made is a true pleasure to use as a daily driver and to type with.

The adjustable feet were a welcomed addition to better fit the ergonomics and reach of the keys with less fatigue while the Dot-Matrix display was a fun and embellishing detail to make it unique.

Being a 75% keyboard, this model can be a good choice for gaming purposes and it is also equipped with some gaming specs such as:

With its 84 keys and screen combined with its tri-mode connectivity, this mechanical keyboard is a versatile option that can cover efficiently many office and productivity work.

The full F number row, navigation keys and arrow keys are further specs well received for this type of use though a knob would had been a neat addition to the keyboard.

The keyboard has a south-facing board with RGB LED lighting on the entire board.

The DynaTab includes plenty of fun presets to choose  which can be changed either on-the-fly or through the PC software.

On top of that, the 540 LEDs of the Dot-Matrix display add a lighting effect that no other keyboard can match.

SOUND

The combination of plenty of quality dampening layers, plate mounted stabilizers and excellent mechanical switches gave the EPOMAKER DynaTab 75X a nice, clean mechanical sound with a clacky flavor with a bit of thock.

The pre-lubed switches and stabs showed excellent performance with no pinging at all, no rattling and yet a smooth and fast response without any mushy feel.

SOFTWARE

The DynaTab 75X is compatible with the current EPOMAKER software used for many other models. The PC app allows deep customization, reprogramming, macros, layers, lighting design and even full design of the DOT-Matrix screen.

On the other hand, we were unable to get the CPU, thermals function to work.

Regarding software, you should check if there are firmware upgrades available, our unit had an older version installed which had a typo on the Dot-matrix screen saying “HELLLOEPOMEKER” instead of “HELLOEPOMAKER” but was fixed after the firmware upgrade (among other upgrades included with the new version)
